I find the book really helpful, except that the CD that came with the book does not work. It actually shuts my laptop down. Is this not because it is an American type of CD that cannot be used on European laptops?
5.0 out of 5 starswhether that is due to bad management, location

This book is absolutely essential if you're going to either manage a restaurant or purchase one yourself.
This book will potentially save you hundreds of thousands of dollars. Most restaurants fail, whether that is due to bad management, location, menu, etc. who knows. This book will educate the amateur on all of these points and will remind the veteran of them as well. In addition, the author provides various methods of analysis that you likely haven't thought of when selecting a location, designing a menu and planning out the business in general.
Having read the book, I would recommend it to others even if it were several hundred dollars to buy. This book will truly save you hundreds of thousands of dollars (depending on your potential investment into a restaurant)
This thing has everything you need to know from picking a place to running it. It even mentions my case, buying an established restaurant and how some steps change for my situation, no other book has addressed my situation so I was happy about that.
Let me start out by saying I am not a pro in the food industry. I have always had an interest in having a little sandwhich shop. But I got cold feet because so many fold after a short period of time. This book will explain why. I think this book is a must have for anyone starting out. I think pros would like it too, but you would have to ask one. Let me just say that if this book got lost I would buy another right away. You can't go wrong buying it.
