Warm, uplifting read

Couldn't put this down. I loved Margot, Will and Blossom, but also Will's family and Margot's friends. All the characters, both human and canine, were so real and believable.

The story made me laugh and cry (in a good way.) And although I raced through it, I really didn't want it to end.

I've been a huge fan of Sarra's since Unsticky, and have read everything she's written, including her YA books. I am delighted that she's returned to her original style, concentrating on one contemporary couple's (+ dog!) romance.

I've ordered the print version, as I.p know it's a book I'll read again and again.

Highly recommended. More please!

Well it’s 1am and I’ve just finished this book that I couldn’t bare to put down.

Sarra Manning has always been one of my favourite authors- for at least 15 years now! She’s guided me from my teens to my thirties and this book really struck a chord for where I am in my life right now.

It’s an absolutely gorgeous book with more than one love story.

I really enjoyed the cast of characters in this book, especially the one at its heart Blossom the rescue Staffy who brings Will and Margot, two thirtysomethings together and helps them to heal as much as they do her.
Also worthy of a mention is I love the way London is brought to life in Sarra Manning's books and the lives and locations feel very real, even to the florist business Bloom's that is evolving and changing with social media.
The dialogue and the friends are wonderful and make the world feel so real. To me this was a real treat to read a well written from com in a contemporary world with of course a wonderful dog at its heart.

I was looking forward to reading this new book by Sarra I had just finished reading Unsticky (for the third time) which I adore. (Would love a follow up of unsticky!!) Any way back to Rescue Me, I was disappointed maybe because I adore unsticky, but I couldn't get into Margot and Wills characters. It was hard to keep an interest in Wills character he was not likeabe, I only felt any chemistry with the characters towards the end of the book. That said it's not a bad read. Just no Unsticky.

It's a lovely book, and I adored the descriptions of rescue dog Blossom through out (it made me snuggle my rescue cats even more than usual!). It's the perfect lockdown read for an escape.

I haven't even finished this book yet but felt compelled to write a review...... I love Margot and Will's story but I mostly love Blossoms story. As a staffy owner you have captured their big heart and personality perfectly. I regularly dread the day when I can no longer smell the eye watering farts as it is something I will miss the most, as well as the snores and grunts. Thank you for making lockdown more enjoyable and I recommend this to any fellow staffy owner past or present who fancies a bit of romance as well ❤❤
