Firstly I salute this author for raising the issue of domestic abuse and despite this brilliant book being fiction as a d.v worker myself unfortunately Domestic abuse is very much real in the lives of many women and an increasing issue.

Erin is a domestic abuse survivor and struggles to love and trust again until she has the healing soothing words and love from her best friends cousin Adam.

let me tell you about Adam this BBF is amazing.

Theres lots of swooning,lust & love,family bonds,danger,drama & epic conclusion.

I am very much looking forward to the next book with Erin's sister, that girl has fire and Antonio is such a man whore, that will be a fab read.

Kathy Coopermans, Rescue Me is about Erin and Adam's story. If you think Shelter Me had you sitting on the edge of you seat while reading it, Resue Me will floor you, Erin hasn't had an easy life by far untill Adam comes into her life and sweeps Erin off her feet. They have such a bond starting and the way Adam is with Sierra and the love he shows Erin and Sierra, will Erin be able to over come her fears from her past and make life changing choices for her self and her daughter Sierra. When Erin thinks her life has started to change for the better and starting to over come her past and fears, and most of all Starting to trust and fall in love with Adam the more time they spend together. Is their love ever going to be strong enough to keep them together has Erin's past comes back to haunt them, you will have to read Rescue Me to find out. Kathy has more than wrote an outstanding story. You will feel every emotion, and feel has you are living Erin and Adam life. Rescue Me is written with so much passion from the heart. Have the tissues at the ready for reading this book. Kathy thank you for an amazing story and can't wait to see what you have installed for us next. Rescue Me is a must read.

Great follow on book and loved the story between Adam and Erin the Rocky road they went on but disappointing ending which I know would lead to another book but to not finish this one off to a suitable ending was not what I wanted I know that the stories do carry on when you get into other books in the series but I can not help but feel cheated and made to buy the next book to feel as if I have got the full story from Adam and Erin.
For that alone it lost a star in my rating otherwise a great book.

Second book in the Shelter Me series.
This book had me gripped right from the get go!
Erin was so broken but the love that Adam shows both her and Sierra enables her to find her strength to rebuild herself.
Their story has so many elements to it all brilliantly written by Kathy.
Look forward to reading Keep Me next.

Erin & Adam.

These two intrigues me in Shelter Me and even more so in Rescue Me!
Erin is a broken women & Adam is a handy man who is ready and willing to pick up all her broke pieces & help put them back together.

These two are two feisty, spunky, sexy characters and together they just fit! They both fancied each other from the first time
they set their eyes on each other but Erin didn't want to drag Adam into her broken world, she is convinced all men leave. She clearly doesn't know Adam.
When Adam has his heart set of something he won't give up until he had it. In this case he wants a family. He wasn't Erin and Sierra.

Happiness doesn't come easy for Adam & Erin. They have many obstacles to overcome.
One being Erin and her habit of not trusting. Not that you can blame her.
Second being the ex husband from hell!
Third. Erin has her daughter to think about. Her happiness and safety comes first.

Kathy did a fabulous job with the second book in this series and I'm hoping we need get a book on Erin's Sister and Lukes Brother. These two are a couple of fire crackers.

Another 5 star rating goes to Kathy!!! Her writing is spot on and her angst level is right up there! I will continue to read Kathys work for these reasons. She knows how to write a damn good book!!

Rescue Me is book two in the Shelter Me series and is the most hard hitting of all, dealing with domestic abuse. Kathy Coopmans does this with sensitivity, understanding and delicacy and Adam's role in this book is pivotal in allowing Erin to deal with her past abuse and current threats that take place in the book. My only issue really is that the sexual element of their relationship appears to happen quite fast but realistically they have known each other for a while as Erin was a neighbour of Shayne's while she lived in Texas, so I'm probably being more picky than I need to be. If I'm honest I just loved all of these books and characters that I would want Kathy to probably have written more for each story!
The interactions between all of the characters is so genuine and the friendships have continued to come across from book one into this one too. I love that Lucy and Sierra are included in both books and their relationships with strong male father figures are just beautiful. This book has me laughing and sighing at times while also gasping and fighting my irritation at others. This book while challenging in its subject matter is so well written it's hard not to like. The introduction of Shelby, Erin's sister is great for some comic and not so comic relief and I can't wait to see how her and Antonio play out in the final book, Keep Me.
