Top Customer Reviews

Format: Hardcover
This is the only book that compiles press articles that starts with the very first reports of her death and moves through that extraordinary week as seen through the eyes of the worldwide media. The authors assembled include Julie Burchill, Clive James , Martin Amis and HM the Queen. Articles compiled from the worldwide quality press to the tabloids offer the most compelling view of the most media friendly celebrity and most written about, talked about and touching death this century.

Format: Hardcover
For someone like myself, fascinated by both newspapers and Princess Diana here is a treasure. An extraordinary book of articles from the world's press, by turns poetic, angry, lyrical and even comical. A powerhouse of writing, and as the introduction says, what journalism is capable of when it really tries. Invaluable for recapturing the mood of the dreadful 7 days in 1997. Favourites: hard to pick out but for starters, Clive James in the New Yorker and Julie Burchill. Great.

Book interesting to read, a bit tatty around the edges, but good.
