About the Author
A former superintendent with Thames Valley Police, David Hodges is a prolific writer and former essayist. His first published crime thriller, Flashpoint, attracted critical media acclaim, prompting a second * hard-hitting novel, Burnout, and his enthusiasm for crime fiction continued undiminished with Slice and Firetrap, both published by Robert Hale. * Hodges lives with his wife, Elizabeth, on the edge of the Somerset Levels, where he can fully indulge his love affair with crime writing.

Being local to the Somerset Levels, the area in which the book is set, made it all the more enjoyable and it is very much up to date with even the recently introduced cranes getting a passing mention!
But even if you don't know the Somerset Levels, this is still a very enjoyable book - but make sure you read "Firetrap" first.
