I have had the pleasure of reading the other Ruby Riot books. Nates story is the one I've been waiting for. He is the most infuriating character I've read in awhile, I love him!
How any woman would put up with his mouth, attitude and treatment of them is amazing. To me he is the most complex of all the band members. The joker of the pack, the bands very own manwhore. He has no problem with bedding any woman with a pulse. He thinks it's terrible that the others have found their life partners and are settling down.
Riley is Ruby riots PR girl and let's face it she has had her work cut out for and Nate has tried to have fun at her expense since she appeared in the first book. Riley seems like a strong and very likeable women, a hard worker and not afraid to muck in.
There is definitely some tension from these too and history .
To me this is the best yet from Lisa swallow. The Ruby Riot series is a definite top of the bill board

Reprise is the 3rd book in the Ruby Riot series by Lisa Swallow, and tells the story of the band drummer, Nate Campbell.

Whenever I read a new Lisa Swallow novel I always tell myself not to get my hopes up, that at some point I'm going to come across one which isn't my favourite, but time after time Lisa proves me wrong and delivers another knock-out novel. As always, her characters are many-layered, with little hidden secrets to be discovered. Only when they meet their match do we really get to see them open up, and I love the way her characters always develop throughout the story, their back-stories interwoven into the present tale being told, which gives solid, believeable characters who are easy to empathise with and understand.

Nate has always been a pretty elusive character in the previous books, and we see more of this behaviour in Reprise. Trapped together with his arch enemy Riley during a snowstorm in the Yorkshire Moors, we finally begin to learn a little more of the Nate/Riley story which has cropped up in previous novels. Despite his arrogance and bravado, I think fans of the series were always hoping that 'the real Nate' was different to the one we had met so far, and I'm so pleased that the fabulous Lisa Swallow once again uses her fantastic gift of character writing to bring us a deep and complex character to fall in love with, Just like Riley does.

Riley herself is also much more complex than we have seen in the series so far, and we learn what gives her the drive and determination to stick at her job, working for Ruby Riot while avoiding them (but especially Nate) at all costs. They say opposites attract, but is there any way back for them after what happened in Paris?

I feel so fickle. With each Ruby Riot band member that I read about, I change my favourite. Even though I still compare them to Blue Phoenix members too. Nate is no exception to the rule, I really thought his twin brother Will was my fave when I read Shuffle, yet here I am weighing up who I prefer, again. *sigh*

Reprise is Nate's story, and he was always the band member I thought was the most 'jack the lad' of them all. He was a joker. Loved to play around in and out of the sheets, seemed to have no interest in settling down, and forever taking the p*** out of his brother and band mates, for being crazy in love. Well this time it's his turn, and we get to be surprised again, at just how different Nate really can be, compared to what we assumed.

This time, Nate has met his match in Reprise with Riley. We already met her on and off in the other stories, as she is part of the PR team for Ruby Riot. And it's obvious something has already gone on between her and Nate, in the past, we don't quite know what, but we are going to find out all in their story.

The chemistry is amazing in this book, as with all of the Ruby Riot books. Edge of your seat with 'will they, won't they' moments. Nate and Riley bounce off each other, and both of them give as good they get, when things start to get heated. But there are huge secrets wedged between these two, and it's going to be intense working out what.

Incorporating addictive characters with an incredible plot, giggling one minute, gasping the next, and you have a trademark Lisa Swallow book. The only question I'm left with is, what's next in the Rock world of Blue Phoenix and Ruby Riot? I don't think I can cope if they have all told their stories, and are finished. I need my fix now.
