Product Description

Whether camping on ice sheets in Greenland in a tent designed by Nasa, being eaten alive by insects up the Amazon or pursuing illegal loggers in Brazil, Shukman's account has all the eco-action you could want (Herald)

Shukman talks a lot of common sense (The Scotsman 2010-08-25)

It's vivid, compelling and relays some singular experiences... urgent, alarming reading. (Andrzej Lukowski Metro 2010-05-05)

Book Description

Reporting Live... tells the extraordinary adventures of the BBC's world-roving environment correspondent. Wonderfully written in a style somewhere between Bill Bryson and From Our Own Correspondent, Shukman's book is insightful, engaging and often very funny.

Format: Paperback
This book is well written and an interesting slant on the climate change debate. Obviously David Shukman often has the feeling of the messenger being blamed for the bad news. He makes it clear he came to the subject as a skeptic and he is trying to present an even handed report of the world and the science as he finds it. This though does not leave the reader feeling much optimism that we will be able to solve the problems the scientists are pointing out.
David Shukman only gives limited information about himself although possibly a bit too much about his travel sickness.
Overall, I am glad I read it. Perhaps I should ask, will it make a difference to what I do........?
