Product Description

Formed in the streets of East London by Peter Ellis (ex- White Wizzard), MONUMENT is bringing back a sound that has been missing from the UK for nearly 30 years... True British Heavy Metal! With thunderous, melodic bass tones, dual guitar harmonies, rock solid yet complex drum beats and signature tenor vocals, the band is determined to make a difference in today's Metal scene and is celebrating a sound that is rooted in melody and great song writing that will inspire a new generation of Metal fans. 'Renegades' is the band's highly anticipated debut album following their critically acclaimed debut E.P. release "Rock The Night" in late 2012. True Metal is back in the Empire and Monument is undoubtedly the band at the forefront of this new wave. 'Renegades' was produced and mixed by Peter Ellis and Akis K. at Angry Bee studios London. Additional mixing and mastering by Scott Atkins (CRADLE OF FILTH). The track "Rock The Night" features a guest guitar solo performance by JUDAS PRIEST guitarist Richie Faulkner. Artwork by Stan W. Decker (BLACKMORE'S NIGHT / STRYPER / TIMO TOLKKI'S AVALON).

Any fan of NWOBHM and NWOTHM should lap this up. It should appeal to both sides that is how good this album is :)

The song Crusaders the melody reminds me of Maiden's The Prophecy song. The song Runaway even starts off like Maiden's Twilight Zone in it's melody. And the closing track Omega. It's got Maiden's To Tame a Land written all over it. In fact if you listen closely to most of the songs. You can hear heavy influences from Iron Maiden all over the album. And from other bands as well. The album is chock full of Metal goodness. No filler. ALL killer. Just play and let the whole album unfold to non-stop eargasm after eargasm. This band should satisfy your thirst for 80s styled meaty riffs and solos nicely.

As a fan of Metal (24 years and counting). This fulfills my needs perfectly. 10/10. Enjoy! \m/

Yes this is Metal straight out of Iron Maiden Note book, But Don't cry copycats as
this is a cracking cd,
The songs all stand up on there own rights, believe me you will be tappin ya foot
an noddin ya heed.
Listen to Runaway n tell me that isn't Twilight Zone by maiden but hey hoo its still
gallops along.
Please buy this n don't get it from some dodgy site We need bands like this to carry
the flame of heavy metal,
Up the irons.

Cast your mind back to 1983. Bruce Dickinson was fully ensconced in Iron Maiden and preparing to release Piece Of Mind, his second with the band. Across London, Monument had just released Re... hang on... that's not right... Peter Ellis, former singer with White Wizzard and the man behind Monument had probably not even been born in 1983! Renegades is a throwback to the years when the NWOBHM was in full flight. If this album doesn't get your head nodding and a smile plastered on your face, you've got no soul.
