Much like some of my observations in the earlier book I read, there were times when the dialog didn't flow as well as I would have liked. For example, the following sentence stands out to me. '“Unfortunately not. I think he likes Ankita, the red-headed tequila beauty in our microeconomic class,” I replied.' Hasnain, Mariyam. Renegade: An Unfamiliar Love Story (Kindle Locations 716-717). Kindle Edition.
My favorite character is Ruchika. She's the small town girl venturing into the big city for the first time. I think Ms. Hasnain captures that bewildering feeling that one gets perfectly. I found myself rooting for her.
The plot was easy to follow along with. I did take a break from reading this, however.
I would recommend this story to anyone who loves tension in their romance novels.
I pulled it off within a few days simply because I was hooked to the story. I could relate the protagonist of the story, Ruchika, in the ways she was ready to explore the world and live life on her own terms. Renegade is a treasure trove of so many emotions and Mariyam, has weaved each one of them together effortlessly. The twists and turns of the story washed off the very cliche attached to the stories of romantic genre.
A must read for lovers of romance, suspense and thrill, all packed in one!!!
Good luck Mariyam!
