I have read a number of books by this author and I have to say that they are always interesting, never run of the mill and can be quite difficult to drop into a category but Rellik is in a class of its own, it has me completely stumped because I’m not at all sure how I feel about it, my mood changes the more I think about it, so I am going to get my review done now while I have the desire to put my thoughts out there.
I placed my advance order MONTHS ago for this book, based on nothing that some very, very interesting teaser pictures and the evasive blurb. (I now know why it was so evasive... I get that it is hard to put the story into a brief synopsis)
But because of all of that I made the fatal mistake of opening the page with preconceived expectations, why, I don’t know.
Rellik delivers a punch but it just might not be the one you are expecting!!!!!
Parts of this book were absolutely exceptional, others left me confused but what was never in doubt was the fact that these characters were superbly written, I just got the feeling that their story was curtailed, that they had more to say, there was more detail to divulge and that they were being confined.
This story could have been huge but it fell a little short, in that the story itself just seemed to be too big for the words that were trying to tell it, if that makes sense.
Ella and Rellik (Ryder) were complicated characters with histories that had shaped and formed their personalities, both had suffered immeasurably and both had been dealt a s*** hand by those that were supposed to care for them.
But their paths were inextricably linked and that link would be their saving grace.

I genuinely like the style with which Teresa Mummert writes, she has a certain flair that settles me into the story and keeps me there. The first book of hers I reviewed was Pretty Little Things and downloading the rest of her books has been on my To Do list ever since. However, once I saw the promo for Rellik, I knew this book wasn’t going on my list; it was being pre-ordered and read on the day of delivery.

To say I wasn’t disappointed would be an understatement. It is raw and brutal and had me totally engrossed. I’m not one for bands and rock stars (even small time ones) in books but I pushed this personal dislike aside, as I’ve done many times, because from the very start, I just knew this was going to be an explosive storyline.

Rellik and Ella each have shocking backstories that have shaped them into the characters they are. Rellik is hard, fast and hell bent on retribution and causing pain. Ella is struggling to save herself while seeking the means to move on. Together the pair are dangerous yet strangely perfect, they see the best and worst in each other and bring both out in spades. This fact makes it very hard to tear your eyes away and so you’ll read on and on.

The first half of the book leads up to and sets the stage for the action to come. Best brace yourself because once the secrets come pouring out, the story will break your heart, put it back together and have you cheering for the bad guy.

Of all the books to be released this year, this was one I was waiting for - did it live up to the hype? Yes. In this fast paced story we meet Rellik and Ella, both with a past that needs closure. The book is not only duel point of view but we are taken back, in sections to the past. It was very easy to distinguish between the past and present and each chapter tells you who is speaking so no confusion there. There were one or two small areas I thought felt a little rushed, I would have loved the author to have explored certain aspects of both Rellik and Ella's lives a little more but it didn't spoil my enjoyment of the story. Recommended.

I couldn't wait for this book to come out and I really loved it!! It is a bit more violent than the norm for me but I loved that (i mean that in the least weird way possible..lol) and I just really liked how much this makes you think about right and wrong!
I love RelliK and I would LOVE the stories from the rest of the band so I am keeping my fingers crossed for more!!

I’m not sure what to say. I mean….whoa. Seriously. Just wow. I am speechless and flabbergasted after finishing “Rellik” by Teresa Mummert.
Undoubtedly one of the best books of 2014. It’s different from what I imagined. I expected a typical dark romance but nothing about “Rellik” is typical. This book is extraordinary in every way – the plot, the characters as well as the writing style.
This book captivated me, lured me in and didn’t let me go. I lost sleep over it and was late for work because I couldn’t stop reading. I don’t even know where to start.

From reading the blurb, I expected Rellik to be the world’s biggest jerk with psychopathic tendencies. Instead, I was introduced to a hot-as-sin rockstar that though consumed by darkness, is still more human than he gives himself credit for. Fate has treated him as her own personal punching bag, leaving him broken and void of any happiness or joy. Trying to get through life without being haunted by his memories, he chooses to live an empty life – women, booze and no attachments.
This changes when Ella enters his life. Feeling an inexplicable connection, he can’t help but allow her to get under his skin – not realizing that they have more in common than he could ever imagine. Instead of her frowning upon his thirst for revenge, he finds support from her that he would have never expected.
As easy as it would be to hate the person that is Rellik and the things he does, he makes it hard to see things in black and white. He managed to bring my views of right and wrong out of balance. He totally got under my skin.
The versatility of his character allows him for a lot of depth, making it hard to judge him. He isn’t just a man who was broken and who now enjoys to break others. There is a sweet and caring side to him.
