Wow what can I say...... I've just finished reading Relinquish & I need a lay down in a dark room. It's fast pasted, dark, gritty has some taboo themes & I loved every bit of it. The writing keeps you on your toes throughout, I loved Landon & Charlie they are excellent characters & really well written. The storyline is really unique I've never read anything similar. I've read everything by M.N Forgy & she seems to be taking her writing to the next level with every book she produces, if I could give this more than 5 stars then I would. I Would recommend to anyone who loves a dark romance with a HEA

Pros:
The plot, wow, it kept me sucked in, loved the detail in which she describes life on the streets.
The female protagonist, her growth from nativity to hardened experience is so clear in the writing style. Initially you mau not like het but believe me you will grow to, my favourite female protagonist of all time, I love her strength of character, her acceptance of the life she needs to live in order to survive. She never complains or victimizes herself. Seriously outstanding character buildup.
Cons: Okay so some of the plot is hopelessly contrived and totally unrealistic but it doesn't take away from the perfection of the book as a whole. Worth the buy trust me!

I made the mistake of glancing through some reviews before I read this and I have to say that the division surprised me, some rated 5 while others had put “Not for Me” or DNF, so the conflict of opinion piqued my interest and I had to dive straight in.
So what was it all about?
Well, we have Charlie a product of the state care system having been without her family since she was nine. She is desperate to make her own way in the world and takes the first available opportunity to fly solo, so as soon as she hits eighteen years of age, she is off – Las Vegas none the less!
But the big bad world out there is well known for chewing up and spitting out young girls like Charlie and no sooner than she is on her way, is she left with nothing to her, all her money and the most her belongings having been thoughtfully removed from her possession by the thieves and charlatans that she comes across on the street– a tough lesson learnt!
But with nothing to her name and no prospect of a job or any money, her options are limited and it is because of that, that he turns to the oldest profession known to man, prostitution in order to keep her fed and sheltered. Although it is not a career of choice, when is it ever, it is necessity feeding her back onto the streets and into the guiles of needy johns.
When we are first introduced to Landon it is as her savour, she is really struggling and in a bad place. He is like a knight in shining armour to this lonely girl and she is immediately drawn to him. He brings out feelings that are completely alien to her and that has her more than a little concerned.

I absolutely ADORED this dark erotic romance, with the sassy but vulnerable heroine Charlie and the totally irresistible bad boy alpha Landon – he is SO hot! In Relinquish author N. M. Forgy weaves a dark tale of pimps, prostitutes and escorts who populate the underbelly of Las Vegas. It is this world that the heroine Charlie and her friend Jayden find themselves thrust into after they escape the hell of their foster home. The pair are on the run as Jayden has not yet reached her majority and Charlie, a mere year her senior, seeks to provide for them both using the only resource she has – her body. I enjoyed every bit of this read and it was evident that the author had done a lot of research into the harsh, uncompromising and sometimes brutal realities of sex for sale and all that the business entails.

It is not long before Charlie’s life literally collides with the enigmatic Landon, who unbeknown to her heads up the Blackwell Estate which caters for men with money and influence….. Yet is Landon her saviour or is he out to use her like the rest? His world is dark and shady and the more she is drawn into it the more she risks losing her heart and not just her body.

My sympathies went out to Charlie who cannot remember what happened to her parents before entering foster care and is plagued by vivid and disturbing nightmares. She is young in years but oh so strong and determined to survive. The chemistry that she has with Landon makes the pages sizzle and I found myself mesmerized by their developing romance, not to mention the scorching scenes between them – both the dialogue and the sex scenes are superb! I loved Langdon’s growing realisation of how Charlie was the perfect match for him, however much he tries to remain aloof!

"Those who fall at their weakest cannot be judged. It's what they do to bring themselves back up that says who they are."

Charlie has no memory of what happened to her mother or how she ended up all alone. Placed in the foster care system from the age of nine she has learned to survive and has planned to escape once she turns 18. On her birthday she leaves in a hurry taking Jayden with her as she sees something behind the smile that touches her. Running away from the foster home Charlie returns to the beginning, finding herself on a bus to Vegas. The pair of them find a run down flat to call home and set out to find jobs. And so begins their journey into the seedy world of selling your only commodity...yourself.

The girls with no other options and a series of tragic mishaps find themselves at Micks. Charlie quickly aligns her present situation to a matter of survival. Using her sexuality is powerful and she feels alive, haunted by the man who took her virginity she tries to forget him.

Landon...the mysterious man Charlie literally bumped into on her first day who cautiously warned her that the Frat boys are not always what they seem. Landon comes to her rescue once more and their night ends with him taking the one thing she had never given to another. Leaving her money the morning after the night before and disappearing before she's awake sets her on a dangerous path.

Fate just keeps bringing them together when Landon takes her as payment in a deal gone bad. Charlie finds herself at his mercy. She is schooled to become a high class working girl, trained to flaunt her beauty and be the perfect escort. Landon oversees this personally as he just can't seem to distance himself. Can he play by the rules and not sleep with one of his girls?
