This book would have been great for reading on the beach or by the pool, but it's great anywhere. You feel as though a friend is telling you this tale over a glass of Cava on their sunny terrace in Spain.
Coral is devastated to find that her lover has a new love-interest. Her logic and conscience tell her that she should end her relationship and move on but her baser instincts keep overtaking and she finds herself increasingly determined to "put a spanner in the works" whenever Rona is the centre of attention.
From the superficial story-telling point of view, this book keeps you turning the page to see what Coral will do next to interrupt her rival's fun and there is humour on almost every page but underneath run the themes which will keep you thinking about how you yourself would react and whether this is what makes stalkers of certain people. I especially like the fact that the heroine, Coral, is not a wishy-washy, nicey-nicey character but is shown to have sometimes radical opinions and to be forced to admit that her actions put her in the wrong. This doesn't stop her coming up with the next weird and wonderful scheme though.
I hope to find more books by this author, to find out what she has to say about other themes and personality traits. I also must go and explore this area of Spain, although I think I'll try to steer clear of the ex-pat community.
