This novella was recommended to me by a friend. It is certainly a fun, smart and interesting look at the twenty-first century relationship. Some of the comments did make me laugh out loud- `Changing his relationship status to `married' did get 855,105 likes, so I haven't written off the human race entirely' and it was an easy, enjoyable read. I will keep an eye out for other novella's by Amy Wilson in the future.

Dan and Kate are an ordinary couple whose seemingly quiet life doesn't distinguish from that of many other people except for one thing: Dan has set up a company that is worth 100 billion of dollars. This is the value of Connected, a website that allows people to connect with each other and on which the nerd Dan has worked since college days.

This novel explores, from the point of view of Kate, a strong but at the same time sensitive woman and the impact that such a change of lifestyle brings to a marriage.
The book explores the consequences of marrying one of the richest man in the world, in both a serious and humorous way.

THE modern romance.....

Very modern, with timeless issues in relationships, pressure, stress, separate interests, infidelity, women who shamelessly chase your man...it's all here, with a social networking backdrop. Very modern, relevant and beautifully written. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Enjoyable read about Kate, newly married to Dan who is the creator of "the" social media site which "everyone" relies upon, and valued at $100 billion. Instead of being able to relax on honeymoon, Kate and Dan's marriage is immediately put to the test when the site is hacked and peoples' personal as well as public information is revealed. We then watch all hell break loose and a media frenzy as Dan struggles to sort the site out, whilst Kate tries to support him in the media glare, as well as carry on her own professional life.

A good well written story which could have been a full length book rather than a novella, as it did feel rushed a bit, particularly at the end.

This is a story about Kate, whose husband Dan is responsible for setting up a social media website worth $100 billion. Their lives are not ordinary and Kate starts questioning what their relationship means to them after the business starts to go wrong. Anyone who is a regular user of Facebook or Twitter will be able to find something that they find familiar (though the website in the story is very much more Facebook than Twitter) and it does make you see how social media websites have taken over as the way to communicate with people.

It is a short story (probably 100-or-so pages), but it does have a way of making you want to continue reading. The ending was rather rushed and there was the potential for this story to have been expanded, but other than that, it was a good read.

Relationship Status is a great read. Funny at places from the start, you get a feel for the characters and it makes you realize how dependent we are on technology. Minor grammar & spelling issues and predictable plot let it down and the ending as a very "oh" feeling to it. I would've liked to have maybe seen more after the final chapter. Other than that it is a good read and I would recommend it if you are a rather "Connected" person yourself!

I found this book really boring. The story line was predictable and I found I was skipping most of the book. The ending is also very poor. Just glad I downloaded this when it was free - please do not waste your money on this book.

The story was ok and not written too badly if you like a very easy read but this book was way to short and ended abruptly. The story itself could of been developed more within the book and you could of learnt more about the characters who were difficult to like. I didn't even feel that sorry for the heroine. Also they mention Kate Middleton at the beginning of the book but later it's a made up princess when it's so obviously her the author is writing about why mention her at all. Could of been a nice read but it's all too rushed but it was free.
