Top Customer Reviews

Format: Audio CD
This album is an excellent overview of the material Sonic Boom recorded after Jason Pierce and Sonic Boom decided to break up Spacemen 3.
"Refractions" focuses on the more melodic output of Sonic Boom and his band Spectrum and features highlights from the albums "Spectrum", "Highs, Lows and Heavenly Blows", "Soul Kiss" and "Forever Alien", as well as a couple of singles.
If you don't have these albums, "Refractions" is an excellent way to get to know Sonic's works, and for the more casual listener this is basically what you need. The choice of tracks is excellent and I recommend this strongly; Sonic's hypnotic brand of psychedelia is very attractive in this format, as some of material from the original albums hasn't stood the test of time so well.
However, wouldn't it be nice with a re-issue of the "Soul Kiss" album?

The journey after Spaceman 3 heads off to the outer spheres. I strongly suggest you all climb on board. Now!

Shoegazey for the most part. I really just wanted the first track off it. This is something that some Spaceman 3 fans might be into.
