Having learned the first Step Reebok routine well, I felt I was ready to progress to the Power Workout. You are supposed to be pretty good at the first routine before moving on, but don't let this VHS scare you. (I think you can buy this from the States as a region free title, otherwise it's VHS for now if you're in the UK.)

Just from watching the routine through, I could tell it would be more challenging than the first workout, but the first workout is still worth hanging on to. You'll sweat a bit more and feel as though you're working a bit harder, but, as with the first workout, there aren't any horrible bits that put you off. Yes, it's another thoroughly enjoyable workout.

The 45 minute Power Workout has much in common with the original Step Reebok. You'll see some familiar faces in a similarly slick-looking setting. The workout is taken seriously and filmed in a way that looks very stylish and interesting. Some of the classic step moves will also be familiar, but they have added twists to prevent the workout feeling like a re-hash of the first.

Gin Miller's instruction is very clear and the workout is imaginative. You'll easily pick up the choreography - which is excellent. It works in a quite cyclical way. Gin establishes some moves and then builds on them until they get bigger and bigger. It's a brilliant style in terms of instruction, choreography and presentation.

The music is good - similar to the first workout - so no irritating pop songs that you might grow sick of. At the end, the enlarged group is permitted to speak. I think they deserve that small indulgence so they can tell you how much they love step. Bless 'em.

Ladies, just don't forget your level 4 sports bras. Ever considered wrist and ankle weights too for that extra payback for your effort? I have. Go for it. Enjoy your workout. Thanks for reading.

This workout is an old one from the 90s but it is fantastic and really gets the sweat going. It has a great atmosphere which many of today's fitness dvds fail to achieve. There's no cheesey 'real people' (unfit) and no close ups of six packs either. I would have loved to have seen an ab section because that in no doubt would have been also challenging. I also would love to have seen a series of these advanced Reebok workouts.
