I love the whole series of books. I can read without putting them down. Soon as I started ready this one i couldn't wait to find out what happens to the other sexy rocker in the band...I've just got the next book in the series. Rochelle and Dex's story just kept me hooked i thought it was never going to be the ending i wanted. I cried at one point. Just my kind of book.

The Redemption by S L Scott

Rochelle Floros lost the father of her two young sons, the love of her life and the legendary guitar player of the rock band The Resistance, Cory. She now has to learn how to live again with a huge piece of her heart and life missing while raising her two boys as both mother and father.
Dex Caggiano, drummer for The Resistance, lost his best friend when Cory died but he finally had the chance to pursue the love of his life, Rochelle whom he has loved since she walked into a bar and took him from cover band to real rock band. He is a recovering addict with a whole parcel of baggage from his past.
The two struggle to be together but their own issues and fears haunt their every move. Their chemistry is flawless but with two young boys to raise and all the responsibilities that come with that Rochelle can’t afford to let her heart guide her.
I literally could not put this book down. I started it at 830 at night and didn’t go to sleep until I had read the very last page at 230 in the morning. From the first word until the last one S L Scott had me hooked. All the twists and turns and broken hearts that happen in this book kept me turning page after page, soaking in each moment with the characters. This book was amazing and I was not ready for it to end. Rochelle was a strong woman with deep love for her children, a gentle enough heart to see past the darkness of Dex’s past. Truly a heroine to look up to and root for throughout the book. Just amazing. The only thing I might have changed is the fact that when they were having rough times it seemed they pulled away from each other instead of standing with each other and working it out. Otherwise a brilliant book.

I reviewed The Redemption on behalf of swankystoriesbookblog.

The Resistance is in my top 5 books of 2014, so when I was given an opportunity to review The Redemption for my blog (Luscious Literature) I jumped at the chance and WOW it didn't disappoint. The Resistance are going through a bad time after losing Cory and are all dealing with his death in different ways. Rochelle, Cory's widow who has been left with 2 small boys is trying to function after the death of her soul mate. Dex, the drummer, has always been the volatile band member, in and out of rehab, a real loose cannon and is on his last warning from the record label. But these band members are family, they look out for each other, they have grown up in the spotlight together and it is the strength that Dex gives Rochelle and the support she gives him back that draws this couple together. There is obvious sexual chemistry between the two that both are denying for their own reasons.
So, what happens when you want someone you really shouldn't but can't help it?
What happens when your self worth and fear of falling into old ways prevent you from perusing your chance of happiness? Is it fight of flight?
This story is heartbreaking at times, yes I cried, I felt such a strong connection to Dex and Rochelle. It looked almost impossible at times that these two would ever stop running from each other and acknowledge the forces pulling them together.
The obvious love Rochelle had for Cory is evident in her journal entries and it is also through these entries that we can feel her pulling closer to Dex.
Hot and sexy Dex, how I wanted to shake you and scream at you. Such an amazingly written complex character that had me swooning and screaming. I swear I wanted to climb in my kindle and hug him then bang his and Rochelle's head together.

The Redemption. 4.5 stars

I first came across S.L.Scotts work when I first read The Resistance. I absolutely loved that book and S.L Scotts writing style. Since then I've read a few more of her books as I really enjoyed how she makes you feel part of the book, and really the brings the characters to life. She makes it feel like your living your life with the characters.
So when i saw The redemption, I was defiantly going to be reading it as I no I'll be getting a good story, and the cover was so hot, broody and sexy it made me want to dive right in.
The book wasn't at all what I was expecting. I was expecting it to be abit of a sad book by the blurb, I however didn't expect it to be completly heartbreaking and deeply emotional like it was.
Rochelle had her dream, but it was brutally ripped away from her and she lost everything. She however never expected to see the Bad boy of rock and super star Dex to be their for her at her desperate time if need. She had always known that Dex was the everything she never wanted, what with his sex, drugs and Rock and roll life style, but some how, the connections there between them. He's helped her so much. Is it all worth the risk after all the heartbreak they've already had to cope with.
It was so heart breaking watching both Rochelle and Dex fighting their feelings for each other because even though there a connection, neither is sure they can get past the emotions of the past, if they can move in from the guilt thetpyve both held on to all these years and the worst part, everytime they look at each other, it reminds them both of the worst day of their lives. It is truely heart breaking.
