The Middle East are an Australian band who (when this review was written) only made this EP and a classic album 'I Want that you are Always Happy' and then apparently split up. This is a crying shame as over the two albums they have melted my heart and left me wanting more. Their sound is best described as an accoustic version of The Shins after a night out with Bill Fay and the XX. Don't be fooled, this band could have become huge if only more people had found them. Haunting melodies and vocals that just pull you in. Try Youtube and prepare to melt.

This EP was described on Amazon as as an McD which put me off a little at first as I didn't know what it is, but I received a standard size CD which played fine in my CD player despite being an import. Don't follow trends or big name bands, try something new and prepare to weep that this band will not be making any more music.

5.0 out of 5 stars SO GOOD 21 Sept. 2012

This is a very solid LP. If your not familiar with the middle east, they are the bees knees of indie rock. Sadly they are no longer together but if your thinking about getting this.... just add to cart.

all the songs on this album are great. One of the songs was in the movie " Kind of a Funny Story". I love this band. I had no problems with the shipping and the CD was in excellent condition

Planning on also picking up their full album. If you love their song "Blood" you will love the other four songs on this ep.

5.0 out of 5 stars Midddle East C.D. 28 Feb. 2013

Arrived in a timely fashion, used, but perfect. After you pay the shipping you pay full prices, but who can find a true music store these days that offers an expansive selections of c.d.'s?

Middle East is unusual and quite ethereal. List to the lyrics. Quite heartbreaking. Check out U Tube videos for a taste of Middle East.
I think it is the third song on this c.d. which portrays a man loosing his wife to cancer. The video on line is animated. Don't know if the vocalist also did the art work, but it wouldn't surprise me. It is amazing and the song haunting.
