About the Author

No one captures the spirit and soul of a place quite like Tessa Kiros. She was born in London, to a Finnish mother and a Greek-Cypriot father. The family moved to South Africa when she was 4, and at the age of 18 Tessa set off to travel and learn all she could about the world s cultures and traditions, and new ways of living and eating. She has cooked at London s The Groucho Club and in Sydney, Athens, and Mexico. On a trip to Italy to study the language and food, she met her husband, Giovanni. They now live in Tuscany, with their two children."

This is a great book but it is an exact copy of Lemoncello and Linen Water, which I already own. I got excited when I saw this as thought it was another new book, foolishly did not take the option of 'looking inside. Also the alert by Amazon was posted after I purchased the book. However it is a stunning book and the recipes easy to follow and all have turned out as they should that `I have tried.

I brought this book as I like the photographs and Italian images, I feel that this is more of a lifestyle book reflecting on women in the home. The recipes in the book are good but I think twelve and apples for jam are better recipe books.

It is the book Limoncello and Linen Water with a different name which is not nice as people think it is a new book and it s not.

1.0 out of 5 stars Beauriful, but... 27 April 2013
By Sue - Published on Amazon.com

I now have four of Tessa's cookbooks. They are beautiful, informative and the recipes are truly delicious. This book follows that description with one major exception. The commentary and recipe directions' print is light grey against white background. It is nearly impossible to read. I went back and checked the print on her other cookbooks and ever since Falling Cloudberries, the print has been getting progressively lighter. This book has the lightest copy yet and attempting to make anything from it is a truly purgatorial experience. I want to make these recipes, can see what they look like and can almost taste them from the ingredient list, but have such difficulty with the grey print execution. The publisher is doing Tessa a great disservice.

The light grey print is hard to read, terrible idea. Almost worthless. The photos are nice, but that's no help.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Beautiful Book for a Book Lover 15 Nov. 2014
By FourCats - Published on Amazon.com

Kiros' books are beautiful which is the main reason I buy them! I enjoy the photographs, personal narratives, and the excellent book design. The recipes are of secondary importance for me although I have prepared several of them successfully. This is a lovely book just to look through and enjoy - perhaps while drinking a cup of espresso.
