Through my sisters recollection of reading this book when she was younger, she recommeded i read it to my 7 year old daughter. We both thoroughly enjoyed it, she could not wait to go to bed every night! I can honestly say that it has left a lasting impression on us both.
Please please republish a detailed illustrated hardback the same as we had years ago!

I first had this book bought for me when I won a competition to meet Terry Nation in Swale. I remember there were Daleks there. I did not necessarily expect to enjoy this book as much as the Daleks, but it was a gripping read, transporting me to an alien world of mystery and wonder. Years later I became a teacher and read it to various classes. Every single time I read it, the children adored the story. I wonder if any of them remember it now. I loved doing the voices of the various characters and the classes laughed when their favourite characters did their catchphrases and performances - though sometimes the actions of the characters would take you slightly by surprise.

If I could nominate a book as idyllic then this would be the one. An often ignored classic. In desperate need of reprinting and certainly of raising to national and international recognition.

I didn't know you could still buy Rebecca's World!I've just enjoyed reading everyone's reviews of it and they nearly all say they read it as a child or knew someone who did,in the 70's,and that includes me.I was given it as a present when I was 7 and I read and reread and reread it,and I'll never ever forget it.The illustrations terrified me but I loved the thrill of them, and I now have 9 kids of my own,6 boys and 3 girls,so we've been through all the usual - Jacqueline Wilson,Jeremy Strong,Enid Blyton (all MY old famous 5's and magic wishing chairs and st.clares and faraway trees which I obviously forced them all to read!),Cathy Cassidy,Judy Blume,Judith Kerr,Shirley Hughes,Helen Oxenbury,Roald Dahl, even all the Goosebumps books, etc etc,but now that I know I can get them Rebecca's World, our literary lives are going to begin all over again!Thankyou Amazon!Thankyou Terry Nation!!
p.s.Does this latest issue have the original spooky
illustrations?(I think I've reviewed the audio cd by accident,I mean the book.Nothing beats a real live genuine paper feel it in your hands smell it with your nose keep it under your pillow BOOK!)

Loved this when i was a kid. Way ahead of its time in terms of environmentally concious undercurrents. Add to that lots of querky charactera and u have a great story for any primary school child
