Boy was this the right choice!
I've already tried a number of recipes, which all tasted great... I think I might just work my way through the whole book!
The book is mainly aimed at the vegetarian / vegan wholefood type market although some recipes include fish. The range of ideas covered are huge, right from breakfast through brunch, lunch, dinner and a whole range of smoothies and juices. I am just about to order a vegetable juicer to see if I can reproduce the gorgeous Juices I tasted at Rebar.
There are also hints and tips on nearly every page helping you to improve your skills and giving you ideas, the most useful I have seen so far is a very simple idea to make it less impossible to prepare butternut squash (which I'd previously given up on!) simply bake it for a few minutes and the skin easily slices away. So simple yet so brilliant!
I can't recommend this book highly enough and am going to go on a personal campaign to try and spread the Rebar word.... then once I've mastered the recipes and juices maybe I'll make a pilgrimage back to Victoria to see how my versions compare with the original!
If you live near enough to Victoria to make the trip.... do so, if not then settle with this fantastic book for now!
