Product Description

Review

Wild, wicked, and wonderfully imaginative! (Sylvia Day, New York Times bestselling author)

In every sense, Ione's Demonica world continues to be both rich and gritty, not to mention populated with memorable characters. Like a fine wine, this series is aging spectacularly! (RT Book Reviews)

I think that sometimes when you've anticipated something for so long, you inadvertently manage to build it up to more than it actually turns out to be, which results in a bit of a disappointment, even whilst you're enjoying said thing, and yes, I know that's an oxymoron, yet that was exactly the case here.

Reaver comes over a year after the last Lords of Deliverance books, so I can't entirely recall where/how that one ended, but I do know that at the end, it was revealed that Harvester wasn't quite the baddie we'd been lead to believe she was, and now with Reaver having learned what she'd done to protect his children, the Horsemen, he's determined to save her from Satan and Hell.

So, the tale ends up being the story of his trials to get to her, and once he's gotten her, to get them both to safety. It was never going to be a quick or an easy quest through the bowels of Hell, and whilst the author didn't exactly repeat stuff, for me personally, it felt as if it were hardship/fight/demon type, name and description/slight progress/backtrack and more of the same in the 2/3 of the book that was about their escape. Yes, during that time, both Harvester and Reaver hurt each other with words, but also healed each other with words, and she agreed to release him from a certain promise he'd made under duress, only for him to start to fulfill said promise on his own terms, and what very hot terms those were (though I did have a little trouble reconciling him as a male lead, with him being a grandfather, LOL!).

Although everything pointed to Reaver and Harvester having past history, it was nothing like I expected. Great story line and things did not come to light until towards the end. It was difficult to put this book down and I would fully recommend to anybody who enjoyed reading the Demonica series. Great read. Full of suspense. Thoroughly enjoyed this book and have already pre ordered the next.

I've waited for years to read reavers story and I couldn't put it down, it was thrilling with non stop action between the angels and demons and the romance between reaver and harvester was scorching.
all the characters were great and 3 dimensional they could walk right off the page.
the story starts with reaver planning to rescue harvester from being tortured in hell by her father satan, harvester doesnt know reaver used to be yenrieth the father of the four horsemen of the apocalypse and he was advised by the archangel Raphael not to tell her as she despises yenrieth.
What follows is a fast paced story that is full of twists throughout and it was great reading about the previous characters like eidolon, shade and wraith and all the others who have had their story, I also cant wait to read revenants story as his character seemed grouchy and witty and I think not totally evil.

Wow oh wow this series I keep thinking it can't be topped it must be the best the author has to offer and I keep being proven wrong. I don't have a favourite in this series unusually because they are all damn good. Reaver is easy to dislike only because his actions have hurt so many and set off chain reactions in the world. But underneath it this story is the Romeo and Juliet to top them all. Harvester lost so much and it's understandable now why she is so cold. Wow loved it!!!!!!!

I have loved how this series has changed and moved and never lost sight of what it was. Reaver has been present since book 1 of the Demonica Series, and was a key player in the Lords of Deliverance series. So I was itching to find out what might happen with him, and how his past might impact others. Without giving any spoilers, It was a fantastic reveal, without making anything that has happened so far seem out of character. It wasn't something that would change the course of the books, but it was a well paced and well thought out book. I can't wait for the next in the series.

Larissa Ione has done it again! We have got to know Harvester and Reaver throughout the other books and their story was overdue.

The chemistry between them and the twists in the storyline had me captivated. I waited with baited breath for this to come out and read it in one sitting.

I can't wait to read Revenants story, do I really have to wait a whole year :-(
