Great read I'm loving this whole series. Painter was such an ass....... but I loved the way him and Mel often spoke to each other

Just returned this as it was massively over priced, tried to read it and had to skip over pieces it was so dull never made to the end. It has now been reduced so may re-order at a later date to see if it can redeem itself. As another reader said the prologue just spoils the book. Really disappointed Reapers Property is one of my all time favourites.

Another great story from the Reapers mc. Heartbreaking and emotional. So glad when Painter and Mel got their act together. Can't wait for more.

Another amazing book by Joanna Wylde in the Reapers series. I've been dying to read Painter and Mel's tale and it's one must read for all MC fans. It's engaging, adrenaline filled, passionate with an edge of humour that makes it unputdownable.
Buy it now and you won't be disappointed.

4 Stars

I have been waiting for Painter's story since we first met him. I knew he was an a$$hole but there was something about him that captivated me and I wanted to know more about him.

In the beginning I really liked Melanie, sure she was a bit naive but she was such a nice wholesome character. In the end though I really struggled with her. She was such a b!tch to Painter and even though he deserved it to a degree she trailed it on too long and punished him too much.

Painter realised the mistakes he made and did everything to make them right but over time he started getting pi$$ed and treating Melanie like sh!t! Sometimes he bugged me with that but I understood his reasoning.

Overall I really enjoyed this story. I would have liked a little longer in the now instead of the past though.

My advice, skip the prologue.
I wish I'd waited to read this then someone could have given me this advice, the prologue spoilt the book for me so my advice to you is skip it, I wish I had.
Prologue aside I still had issues with this book and it's difficult to review because at times I enjoyed it, I liked the club drama and some of the other characters but Painter and Mel annoyed me no end.
This book didn't really grab me and hold me, I found I could easily put it aside and if I'm being totally honest I found sections of it boring. Painter made huge mistakes and Mel should get awards for the length of time she can hold a grudge.
It picked up towards the end and the bonus epilogue was my favourite part of the book but this is, like the previous book a 3 star read.

Annoyed!! After pre-ordering this book back in January at £6.84 I now see after a lot of 1 star reviews that are only price related this book is now £4.74. So I have paid more than £2 extra. Fine if it goes on sale after a few months but not happy a week after release.

I absolutely adored this story, I think it might have hit my top spot for this series because everything about it reminded me why I love a bad-ass biker.

Levi 'Painter' Brooks has been a bit of an enigma throughout the series, he first fell in love with the president's daughter Em, but she soon got sick of his ways and ended up with Hunter. It was alluded to in previous books that he and good girl Melanie Tucker were in some kind of love/hate limbo and that they had a daughter together, but it's not until now that we get the full story.

Melanie is associated with the MC via her surrogate mother, London who is the Old Lady to President, Reese 'Picnic' Hayes. She is not a fan of the MC life at all, she wants to go to college and become a good person with a sense of security and a loving home in her future. But as a young woman, there is no denying her attraction to Painter, and it seems the eternal bachelor can't help his feelings either because he feels it too.

After just one night in each others company, Painter is arrested and for the next year Melanie writes to Painter in prison, forming a bond that will forever be untethered.

When he is released from prison, he is all about avoiding Melanie, for he knows that he will never be good enough for her, she is a pure and good person and he is not. He kills and maims, but deep down he has a good heart.

From here we follow their roller-coaster relationship, with some wonderful butterfly inducing moments and some equally stomach churning angst. With beautiful chemistry and a whole lot of resentment, they spend years going back and forth, with Melanie unable to forgive him for a mistake he will regret for the rest of his life.
