I've been playing the US copy of this game (Real Soccer 2009, it's called rather quaintly) for a week now and I have to say, it's a top game. I've also got Fifa09 for my DS, and tbh, this game is better than Fifa. The graphics, ball physics and playablity are much better, and the matches are really enjoyable. It's even got a very good tutorial, something Fifa lacks.

The reason no-one will buy this is it doesn't have all the licenses, so you don't get Man United, you get Manchester Reds, a bit like it used to be in PES. BUT you do get most of the Premiership teams in all their glory with the correct players (even Chelsea), and you get all the top foreign teams and international teams, with all the right strips and players.

The most important thing is, this plays the best game of footie on the DS and especially at £9.99, I heartily recommend it.

The reviews on here are totally misleading this game is bad in fact it's almost impossible to play due to the 2D player movement and slow reaction times of the players , The computer can predict every move far quicker than you can react with the controls which means taking on players or quick movements almost impossible . The graphics are average and gameplay quite boring , I had Real football 2008 and although there are more modes and options on this game i still think this is a downgrade in terms of gameplay , I would go as far to say it's probably the worst football game i've ever played on any console.

Bought as a holiday game for my 4yr old son - he loves it and has played in non-stop since receiving it. It might be old and out of date but in total I paid less than £5 and it's excellent. He is also learning national flags !

I bought this for my son who's footy mad. It doesn't have the licencing from the major leagues but this doesn't bother my son as he doesn't know who plays for which team anyway. What's important is the game play which given the small screen on the DSi could have been difficult but it's not, one great feature is you can control the gameplay by drawing shapes, I've not tried it yet but the idea looks good.
