This can comfortably shut up anyone prejudiced about reality-tv created stars. 'Ready To Run' is the long-awaited and underrated debut from Sinead Quinn, series one Fame Academy runner-up. The first track "What You Need Is..." is a satisfying yet somewhat weak opener, best heard at full volume. "Never Happy" follows, and, bar a catchy middle, really is the weakest this album has to give. Standout tracks on this album are the title track, which is a powerfull ballad, as is the next one, I Can't Break Down, cruelly pipped to the No.1 spot in February 2003. From thereon, it's all good stuff, especially the closing three tracks and "Fire Me Up". The last three tracks all provide something new and original, and show the talent of Sinead and not Sinead plus producers, despite the studio noises you can hear at the end of Safe Hands. Fire Me Up and Love Me All The Way are both head-scratchingly good and catchy whilst "Lucky Escape" is so powerful it could reduce you to tears.
If you can find anywhere to buy it, buy it. Give her sales, for God's sake.

This has got to be the best £[*] I have ever spent. Every single track is fantastic and there is never a moment of regret when listening to it. The music varies in styles and there is sometimes a hint of Alanis Morrisette in Sinaed's magnificent voice. On my CD, I don't know about anybody else's but I have 'Never Happy' as my track 2 an I have to say it is by far the best track. It is inspirational and can really help teenage girls to see that there is no need to be stick thin to enjoy life. There is not a dull moment and knowing that Sinaed dedicates it to her brother just adds to your thoughts that she truly is an inspirational and admirable women. You can not play the CD too many times and I listen to it whilst writing thius review and do not take back a single word written. Just because not everyon knows about it, this does not mean that it isn't an ssential part of anybody's CD collection.

Truly amazing debut album which hasn't been given the publicity it deserves. I stumbled across this whilst browsing in my local supermarket and it's the best album I've bought this year!!!
Sure the production was not in the seem league as Avril Lavigne, Alanis M and all the other rock chick super-stars but despite this Sinead Quinn's obvious talent shone through and I will definetely buy her next album.
My favourite - safe hands just showed that she doesn't only belt out the rock numbers with attitude - This was a superb ballad that I played over and over again - something for every taste on this album
Give the girl a chance - buy this album because if you like Mel C, Annie Lennox and the likes - you're bound to enjoy this
and as for her record company.........It's time you started promoting this girl big time - she has talent!!!!!

If there is one album that you are going to buy this year make it this one you will not be disappointed, it will blow you away.
It is rare for a British artist to produce a debut album consisting of 12 self written songs let alone 12 songs of such high standard.
Forget Pink, forget Avril, here is a girl who is home grown, talented, plays three instruments, writes her own songs, has a voice of strength, tone and emotion that will leave you wanting more.
Come on buy British, this girl is going to give the British music industry the kick up the backside it needs. We don't want "The Fast Food Rockers" or "The Cheeky Girls" we want musicians who can sing, write and play instruments. This girl is a talented musician.

Sinead Quinn made the final of Fame Academy and, although she did not win overall, she nevertheless stands out as a first rate performer. Excellent vocals, good guitar work and some interesting song arrangements.

This is the second album from the first season of Fame Academy, is it better than David's? or Hearsay's, or Liberty X's? Without a doubt I say YES!
Here is my track-by-track review:
~What You Need Is (7/10)
The second released single from the album is one of the rockier tracks on the album. The lyrics are more commanding, but the vocals aren't to her best.
~Never Happy (8/10)
If there was to be a third single, this would probably be it. It's an infectiously catchy pop/soft rock track. Her vocals are average on this track.
~Don't Give It Up Girl (10/10)
Sinead's version of like an Amy Studts "Misfit" track, which in my opinion is miles better than Amy's track. This is my favourite off the album, it's catchy, poppy and it would be an instant chart success.
~Ready To Run (7/10)
The slowest and more balidic track from the album. This is about a member of Sinead's family, so is quite personal to her. This track is Sinead's best in the vocal departement.
~I Can't Breakdown (9/10)
Sinead's debut single. This was written inside the academy and is one of the high's of the album. Her voice is quite strong but pleasant on this song, but this was better live.
~Fire Me Up (9/10)
One of the more upbeat tracks on the album. This is one of my favourites, its really catchy and its got a really strong background beat; a mixture of rock, pop and electric. Her voice is strong on the verses, while being quite average on the chorus.
~Small Town Big Dreams (6/10)
One of her best vocal tracks at the beginning, but the song is a bit typical pop really! The chorus sounds familiar to an old song, the verses are lyrically bizarre!
