Review

A delightful, heartwarming series which promises plenty of love, laughter and tears - Lancashire Evening Post

Della's writing is stylish, moving, original and fun: a wonderfully satisfying journey to a destination you can eagerly anticipate without ever guessing - My Weekly

Della's a real favourite with our readers - her stories are beautifully crafted, with real characters, believable situations and observant dialogue that always rings true - The People's Friend

Della is one of our best writers - Gaynor Davies, Woman's Weekly

The perfect introduction to the series. I loved how in just a few pages, the author had me engrossed in the story, caring for a few of the characters already and picking up on some hints of where things will go for some of them in later novellas . . . This was a truly heart-warming read. - Reviewed the Book

Della is always worth reading! - Take A Break

I love serialised novels; they give me quick bursts of a story that I can fit in when I don't have time to sit down and get engrossed in a full book and I'm delighted to have discovered a new author in Della Parker - One More Page

Della has created wonderful characters that you can identify with and her writing totally immerses you into each individual story. While they include serious issues for each character, Della adds humour throughout that makes each story more enjoyable - Bloomin' Brilliant Books

Each story is entertaining and uplifting, full of laughs and romance and characters who feel more like friends than strangers - Reviewed the Book

Having previously read the January book, this one came up on Amazon for free and I couldn't resist getting it as the previous books was so fantastic.

Della has kept this book very short but has packed so much in.

This paticular book focuses on the friendship of the reading group when tough times hit Grace one of the group members.

Without giving anything away, she's a very proud lady but having her friends around her she breaks down and reluctantly tells the group what is happening.

They quickly all pull together offering help and support in every way.

There is an emotional connection to Grace as Della has chosen real life emotional issues that effect people every day.

You really could connect and feel Grace and Ben's pain and the proud feeling Ben has to protect he's family.

I would highly recommend this short story as it packs a punch and leaves you wanting to read more, which is exactly how Della left the January book.

The Reading Group: December is the perfect introduction to the series. I loved how in just a few pages, the author had me engrossed in the story, caring for a few of the characters already and picking up on some hints of where things will go for some of them in later novellas. Though we only meet the other members of The Reading Group briefly, their friendship and solidarity is evident and although like most book clubs reading wasn’t massively on the agenda, Grace, Serena, Kate, Anne-Marie and Jojo felt like a really welcoming group of friends and this made me want to dive into the first three books straight away.

December is Grace’s story and in the lead-up to Christmas, herself, her husband Ben and their boys (triplets!) are going through a tough time. I was moved by this story. I loved the dynamics between the triplets – a realistic representation of the chaos kids can cause, the kind that is fun to hear about but not so fun to deal with yourself! I also loved how Grace’s worries led to meeting the Reading Group and how understanding and willing to help they were. This was a truly heart-warming read.

This is the beginning of a series, at around 17 pages I was a little apprehensive that I would be able to get into it before it was over. I shouldn't have been worried. It begins with a reading group, Grace is on her way there, but the reader quickly learns that she is struggling in more ways that one and didn't want to attend the group in case she ruined her friends evening. After spilling all at the group, her friends offer to help her out.

This is such an easy read, I couldn't believe that the story was over so soon, I can't wait however for the others in the series, although short and sweet I feel this is going to be a series I devour quickly. This installment is currently free so make sure you download it in time for Christmas.

Christmas in Grace’s house was about to be cancelled for two strong reasons.
She is persuaded by husband Ben to go to the last meeting of the reading group before Christmas, although she is not really in any mood to go.

The rest of the reading group sense that something is wrong and try to help with Dickensian ‘A Christmas Carol’ spirit.

This series is genius. With the setting of the reading group, a bunch of friends navigate life, love and all the pain and precious moments that it brings. The tying in with the book of the month is very clever. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

This was a delightful short read and a great start to the series. Easy to read in one sitting. I look forward to reading the rest in the series.

I would highly recommend this short story, but be warned, one book will not be enough and you will want to grab the rest of the series.

Lovely short story with a Christmas but not overly Christmas theme. Must admit to a happy tear and look forward to reading January's Reading Group.

I enjoyed meeting the characters. I found it very short and, just as I was immersed in it ,it ended. I would like to read more about the group.
