Our school uses the read write inc program and wow!!! what a difference I have noticed to how quick my son (4-5 yrs)has come along. He has progressed faster than my now 10 and 12 year old sons did at his age. It is easy to use for any parent and makes sense at how they learn. I also purchased the phonic cards as these are what the school also uses. I can keep his good work up in the school holidays and not let him slip behind.

I would recommend the read write inc to any parent, child minder or school.

My son is in year 2 at school and is really struggling with his reading and writing. He is waiting to be assessed as he may well be dyslexic. This is the only book scheme that I have been able to get him interested in. We are on the purple set of books and he knows that the words in red can't generally be sounded out so if he has a problem with them he doesn't become so discouraged. The words in black are quite straight forward so he can read these most of the time. His self esteem has improved when it comes to reading and I can actually get him to read a whole story. We are going to keep going with this scheme and I will be buying further sets of books. I highly recommend this scheme, and this box set as a starting place.

My son prefers this to the Usbourne Phonics reading books which we bought initially, as he finds these stories more amusing.

These books have helped both our children to become more confident readers and they even seem to enjoy it. As the books are quite funny, it's not a chore for them to read, but they actually look forward to reading them and are always more than happy when the books come out. Winner all round!
