Comment: A book which is in good overall condition. This means that it will be largely free of page markings, the spine will still be in solid, tight condition and there will be no pages which are missing from the book. The pages may have slightly turned corners but overall the book should be clean to touch and enjoyable to read.

I discovered this book whilst trying to find some 'funnies' for a Leavers' service. This book is packed full of amazing poems by such prestigious poets as Pie Corbett and Roger McGough. As with all poetry books, not all of the poems were to my taste; but there were certainly a superb number of very cleverly written verses. As a teacher I will be able to make use of the the poems involving similes, metaphors and kennings, great.

I have quite a considerable collection of wit and 'funny' quotations books, and comic verse collated by the likes of Rosemarie Jarski, Des MacHale, Geoff Tidballs, Roger McGough, Ned Sherrin and quite a few others, most of which have given a great deal of amusement and the odd 'out-loud' laugh, but nothing has caused more loud guffawing from me than this book of collected funny poems chosen by Gaby Morgan.

Don't assume that is for just children. Whilst it is suitable for kids it is perhaps more appreciated by adults of all ages who will instantly relate situations defined in the poetry to life experiences of their own, albeit not quite so exaggerated nor slapstick, and it will induce laughter. Nothing can be guaranteed in life but it would take a really dull, hapless individual not to find this book eminently funny.

I have read this tome whilst contemplating life in our en-suite facilities, and each night on exiting my wife having heard my laughter is eagerly anticipating hearing that session's readings. So then ensues the only poetry readings that I have ever been asked in nearly 70 years, to perform!

My best value 'laugh-machine' ever.

This book really does what it says on the cover, "Read me and laugh". My daughter keeps it on her bedside table and I hear her giggling upstairs while she's reading it. A Funny Poem for Every Day of the Year is a terrific bargain and any parent is well advised to get a copy so they can sneak it away and read it for themselves while the little one is off in the land of Nod.

I bought this book on the recommendation of someone else and keep it in the spare bedroom for guests to read -its great to hear the poem they liked best and the good part is it also works as a bedtime story for my nearly four year old grand-daughter. I love the individual poems which make you laugh out loud and be delighted every time you turn the page!

My little boy (9) is mostly interested in maths and science and pokemon... I want to encourage him to broaden his reading a bit, and these poems are perfect, short and funny, and one for each day so he can fit it into his routine around school. He has really liked coming and reading a poem out if it is particularly comical, or has a funny bit of wordplay. I think this was a successful present for him.

An undemanding, lighter look at poetry and verse that could be a lot worse. Just as good as the apple a day to keep the blues away and puts a smile on your face right from the off - especially from Roger McGough.

Read Me and Laugh
The book arrived and I couldn't put it down. There were many poems that i remembered but also many more that I was reading for the first time.
A great choice for kids and adults alike.

We borrowed this from the library and they won't let us renew it anymore so its time to buy our own copy! My daughter age 8 loves it - an essential part of the bedtime routine!
