RazorSharp will clean and maintain your blade and bring back that 'new blade feel' After 3 - 4 days of shaving blades lose their sharpness and start to feel blunt. After 7 days they drag and feel uncomfortable and a new blade is needed. The fact is your blade is not blunt! They have become dull and unusable due to the residue that has built up from use. The patented "RazorSharp Friction Technology" removes the residue of hair, skin and dry soap that makes the blade dull. RazorSharp is guaranteed to extend the life of all razor blades and will provide up to 150 shaves with one razor blade when you use RazorSharp.

Works best with foam rather than gel shave cream.
I bought one for my son, so I'd say it's a 'buy' but if you have a heavy beard or skin that's intolerant of a anything but the sharpest blade, then you may not be so chuffed. But it's worth a go as you can save heaps.
Update: 26FEB, used over 6 months now and only on 3rd blade. So it's paid for itself quickly.
1. If possible shower before shaving or apply water as hot as possible to open pores of skin (old barbers used to use hot towels).
2. Apply two drops of Baby Oil (Poundland) and rub into skin. This will have similar effect to those expesive shave oils.
3. Then apply your normal shaving gel. Due to the oil you won't get so much lather.
4. Shave with the grain of your beard then in opposite direction.
5. Use razor sharpner.
6. Dry razor thorougly (pevents oxidisation). I dry mine on towell in same way as using
the sharpner. Store in dry place, remeber bathrooms are damp places.
With the above routine I have had the closest and cheapest shave ever.
It won't fetch the blade back to new condition, but it'll let you get another few weeks from the blade - which has to be a huge money saver considering the cost of Gillette Fusion blades/cartridges!
Recommended as a longer term investment - it'll certainly pay for itself in under a year
I have a different handles for the same razor blades. I got 2 which were different colours, put a new blade on each, and alternated them each day. With one of shaving sets I used the 'sharpener' and for the other I did not. I found that both blades became unusable at around the same time. In fact I could not even notice any difference.
Since buying this product I have a better understanding of how Amazon reviews work and why there are so many saying this product is the best thing since sliced bread. There are a host of professional and semi-professional reviewers (I use the term 'professional' to mean that this is their day-to-day job, not meaning that they are good at reviewing). Sellers give them a free product in exchange for a 'unbiased review'.
But the sellers only pick professional reviewers who have a track record of handing out 4-5 stars and giving a glowing report. The reviewer knows that sellers pick them on this basis and they receive more and more free products, and complete more and more reviews which makes them look better and improves their own reviewer ranking. The seller knows that they will receive a good review, based on the track record which they have evaluated. Amazon's guidelines say that sellers can get reviews in this way on the basis that they state that the review should be unbiased, however the seller will pick their reviewer based on their historic reviews. Everyone's a winner.
What may happen then is that the reviewer could sell on that product under the same listing the original product (so Amazon will say that it's sold by other sellers). So the reviewer can make a living by grabbing free products, giving a good review, and selling on under a different profile. This may be done apparently without using the product, as it is sold as new.
Blades are expensive.
After a few uses the blades tend to drag.
Now this is not because the blade has blunted but is often that there is a build up a hair, soap and scum especially if you live in a hard water area like I do.
The actual blades now are really fine and soon can clog up.
What this simple device does is it lets you clean the blades and bring them back to pristine use.
Now like you I was sceptical.
SO I bought and tried the device out on 4 different razors.
All had been used and tended to pull on my skin.
The 4 I used were
The latest Gillette Power Glide
The old power Glide/
Wilkinson Sword Aqua Glide
and a cheap Wilkinson Sword Disposable.
I cleaned each on the Razor Sharp using the same sized tiny blob of Shaving Gel each time and pulled the blade back 4 times with one for luck.
In all the blades produced a far smoother shave than they had before.
The outstanding razor was the Wilkinson Aquablade.
It felt better than new and in previous tests the Aquablade had always given the best results.
Now the reason for this could be that the Aqua Glide has only 4 blades compared to the Gillette's 5.
There is a bigger space between the blades.
I think this wider gap makes the cleaning more effective- hence more of the 'gunge' blunting the edges was removed.
Now to round up.
I will use this device before each shave.
I will tend to go for the wider gap blades like Wilkinson Sword in the future.
BUT this device will and does extend the life of all blades.
The trouble is that new technology when new is expensive.
The latest wet shave out usually has blades that will not fit any other razors other than the latest model etc.
So this device will pay for itself many times over.
100 per cent recommended.
