The Razer Mamba wireless mouse returns with an ultra-precise 4G Dual Sensor System. The new iteration makes use of both a laser and an optical sensor to enhance tracking precision by calibrating to different surfaces and allowing adjustment to lift-off tracking. With up to 15 percent improved battery life for more untethered gaming enjoyment, multi-coloured lighting for personalisation, and an industry-leading wireless technology, the Razer Mamba is still in a league of its own.
Press Reviews
"Very precise and configurable gaming mouse" – Game Star "…it definitely delivers on its promises—it's lightning fast, accurate, flexible, and comfortable—generally as good or superior to its corded gaming mouse siblings in virtually every way." – Examiner "When used for gaming, I've found the Mamba far more customisable, elegant and comfortable than my previous choices to date." - Destructoid
Dual Gaming-grade Wired/Wireless Technology
Are you ready to take your gaming further than before, cord-free? As Razer is the pioneer of the world’s first gaming-grade wireless tech, you can be assured the Razer Mamba performs as well cordless as it does corded. With a 1 ms response rate, your command is executed first even if you and your opponent react at exactly the same time. When the battery depletes in the Razer Mamba, just plug in the USB cable so you can keep gaming while it recharges, for zero downtime. Or when not in use, pop the Razer Mamba on the charging dock that doubles up as the unit’s wireless receiver.
An Incredibly Comfortable Gaming Experience In-hand
Razer Mamba’s curves are subtle and seductive to look at, but it really needs to be held in hand to feel how exquisitely comfortable it is for your fingers. The gentle slope fits snugly under palm while the buttons are all optimally positioned for easy actuation. The Razer Mamba’s right-handed ergonomics lets you game for hours on end without strain and fatigue.
4G Dual Sensor System
Experience the new pro-gaming standard of precision with the 6400 dpi 4G dual sensory system, outfitted with a laser and an optical sensor to accurately calibrate the mouse to any surface for exceptional tracking. The Razer Mamba not only matches the speed of your swipes – no matter your play style – but also lets you track and adjust the cut-off to lift-off distance, empowering you with more control than ever.
Hyperesponse Buttons
From Razer’s very first gaming mouse to now, our mice buttons are designed to be hair-trigger sensitive. This means as soon as you think it, your finger has already mouse clicked it. Utilising highly durable micro-switches, there is a pronounced tactile feedback to your fingertips with each actuation, so you get the absolute assurance that you’re winning with precision.
Multi-colour Lighting
Bright pink, deep purple, or Razer green – with over 16 million colours to choose from, make the Razer Mamba shine bright in just the way you want it to.
Razer Synapse Enabled
Enhance your Razer Mamba experience with Synapse, Razer’s hardware configurator with online cloud support. From sensitivity to lift-off tracking to surface calibration, you’ll be able to customise every detail. Better still, this data is saved in the cloud, so you can play your way wherever you are. Razer Synapse keeps your Mamba in peak performance via automatic driver and firmware updates so you’ll be on top of your game, all the time.

I recently wore out the Logitec MX Revolution and frankly didnt thinking the replacement model was as comfortable or nicely built. I wanted a wireless mouse and ideally one that could be used for both work and play. Enter the RAT 9....having used this for about 3 months I have finally given into the occasional erratic movements and unresponsivness (it would stop working in the vertical or horizontal plane once or twice a day!?). That got me looking at alternatives and although I had considered the Mamba originally, I thought £100 to £115 for a mouse was a tad excessive.
Well, despite the negative reviews on Amazon (mainly posistive elsewhere, and the previous model seems to get more decent reviews for some reason too?) I figured if it wasnt up to task then Amazon's return policy seems to be good so why not give it a go, there's certainly nothing else out there that seems to be any better in fit or function (except maybe on price though!). Anyway a late night order to Amazon, and after paying for next day delivery, a brand new Mamba 2012 arrived 7pm Saturday last week.
I have updated the firmware with no issues (after I found out the old Mamba firmware won't work for the 2012 edition but that was my error not theirs as I'd downloaded the wrong version!), the configuration software delays a few seconds when communicating with the mouse but I really don't think this is excessive (for some reason this is commented on by other reviewere..for heavens sake people its doing it wirelessly so what do you expect broadband speeds?).
I can honestly say it has so far worked flawlessly, battery life seems up to more than a day's work and late night gaming/general useage (perhaps even 2 days). It sits on the charging cradle pretty easily. It's a much smaller footprint and lower height-wise than I expected which is good too.
It's certainly up to the task of my Call of Duty gaming, TBH I can't see how anyone would ever actually use it on full 6400 DPI setting but the main point of me buying it was a faster (than normal) mouse that was up to gaming AND wireless..it fits perfectly in every respect.
It feels well built, it is definately 'over packaged' (but that simply adds to the feel of the product), battery life is reasonable (the RAT 9 would last less than a day, maybe 7 or 8 hours only), it fits comfortable in the hand, is just about the right weight and glides over my Razer Destrcuter pad (still going strong after 4 years of use!).
Quality, buy it if you have the money and don't look back!
Likes:
It has flawless tracking and will make FPS more precise if you get the settings right for you. The on-the-fly switch is more useful than you'd think, and in more than just gaming, I find myself using it a lot in every day use. The custom settings that this mouse have are what make it for me, I find them useful and even if the software could be better/faster, it gets the job done.
I love the primary fuction, design, feel and even love the overblown box it came it, but I'm not blind to its faults, and there are a few.
Dislikes:
Its over-priced not matter what they say.
The battery life is pretty weak and unpredictable (almost equates to lies on Razer's part)
it can rattle at times and the wheel is prone to squeak. (It does go)
It takes A little longer than it should to wake from sleep mode (not a huge issue)
When not in wired mode the software/firmware is VERY slow (annoying, but how often would you really be using it?)
It doesn't track very well on many surfaces. (You will be using a quality mouse mat, won't you?)
Range isn't the most impressive. (not a issue for me, maybe for others)
Razer - you could have made the build quality a little bit more solid for the price.
For the price of this mouse it shouldn't have any of these problems. But I get round them and some don't bother me at all.
It is a great mouse, but I wouldn't want you thinking its worth every penny, cuz it's not, but if you have the luxury of being able to get one....
The other issue is that unlike a normal wireless mouse which needs recharging every few weeks of use, this requires charging everyday, thus I've ended up using it as a wired mouse which defeats the whole purpose of paying a premium for a wireless mouse over say a Deathadder or G500.
If you do decide to buy one make sure you buy it from Amazon and NOT Razer. Amazon replaced my first one and have given me a refund on the second one. Razer has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I bought a keyboard from their store recently and contacted their support about some issues with it and just got copy and paste replies from their website so I requested a refund and it took them 3 weeks just to reply to my email then I had to pay £27 postage to post it back to Germany to get my refund. Whereas Amazon had no queries and replaced it for free the next day.
Bottom line is it's a decent mouse that really isn't worth the money and don't be surprised if it doesn't last very long and you have to get it replaced.

Halb so wild...
