Product Description

Product Description

Engineered with industry- leading gaming technology from Razer, the Razer Arctosa comes with outstanding features like fully-programmable Hyperesponse keys with macro capabilities, customizable software profiles with on-the-fly switching and 1000Hz Ultrapolling, giving you the competitive edge to perform faster and better in-game. Say goodbye to amateur hour; your gaming abilities can be brought to the next level now.

The Hyperesponse keys of the Razer Arctosa reduce key latency and maximize response for critical actions during competitive gameplay ensuring fast, accurate and consistent actuation response in the intense frenzy of competitive gameplay.

The Razer Arctosa addresses "ghosting" signal failure that occurs when you press multiple keys simultaneously on traditional keyboards. Selective anti-ghosting around the WASD gaming cluster on the Razer Arctosa allows more commands to be entered at any one time without the "ghosting" signal failure.

Too many keystrokes to enter and too little keys? Sometimes we wish we had more fingers (or maybe an additional arm for that can of soda or beer while we're in the middle of a raid.) The next best thing would be fully programmable keys with macro capabilities that enable instantaneous, multiple commands with a single keystroke. Buy armor and weapons or execute complex manoeuvres with a single key with the Razer Arctosa. Some things are better than extra fingers (or arms).

Used this keyboard for a couple of days now. Initially I was disappointed to see the keyboard was made of incredible cheap looking plastic. I had expected more of Razer given the price. Performance wise however, it's doing well. It is comfortable to use and the keys are easy to the touch. It is a decent keyboard, but perhaps not worth what I paid for it.

//Edit: Been using this keyboard for a couple of months now, and I'll be honest with you, it does not responds well to usage. The WASD keys, the return key and damn near every other key that comes in frequent usage takes up a significant stiffness which affects my response time, a fact I find very off putting when gaming in a fairly competitive circuit. Should you buy this keyboard? For this price: definitely not. It looks pretty on the picture, but I am definitely disappointed with performance over time. I'll tell you this now - If you're after a keyboard to do semi casual to hardcore gaming with, this is not for you. Even casual gaming will prove too much for this in the end I suspect. You're better off buying a £20 standard keyboard. One where the keys don't start sticking.

    tl;dr:

Looks disappointing - cheap materials put into this keyboard.
Performs badly with use - keys stick.
Over priced for quality - 'nuff said.

I'm not an expert on reviewing Keyboards, but this does all it says, and I guess that's all you need. The reason it gets a 4 is because the plastic at the bottom is flimsy, but it's minor. otherwise, it's a good keyboard.
One thing i really liked about it was the packaging, I know it sounds gimmicky but the packaging really makes the buyer feel like they bought something special

This is a brilliant keyboard for a gamer. The packaging on the keybard when it comes is of the highest standard and looks really nice, better than apple in my opinion. The actual keyboard it's self is comfy with the wrist rest to aid against getting RSI and they keys are not incredibly hard or easy to press. The quality of the keyboard is amazing and not made of that tacky plastic which some keyboards have (tacky plastic bugs me). You can set up to 12 different profiles which are changable to what keys do (so B may put the words hello all for in game chat). It is wired ,which in my opinion is better, so you do not have to keep on charging it. In all this is a brilliant keyboard!

    Amazing keyboard, feels great!

Plastic seems kinda cheap for the price, but you barely notice when gaming, etc.

However, if you can't touch type or need some indication of where any of the keys are then buy the SILVER model, and not black.

It seems I was sent the wrong keyboard as I should have received silver. Ah well.

I sit typing this review using my very own razer actosa keyboard, which I've had for a few weeks now. The first thing I have to say is that this is a very tactile and comfortable keyboard especially for prolonged gaming sessions, it's also pretty sleek with a nice glossy finish, it feels more expensive than it is - which is a plus.
The downside, and it is a big 'capital D' Downside, is that the letters on the keys are basically invisible in all but the most perfectly directed light. This may suit gamers fine but if, like me, you spend a lot of your time doing work or writing assignments etc then it can become a really stupendously annoying factor that cripples the usefulness of this as a day to day keyboard.

My perspective is this if you either a/ only use your PC for Gaming or b/ are such an intuitive typist that you don't need to see where the keys are , then on all accounts this keyboard is very good. If, however, you aren't a hardcore computer user and occassionally need to glance down to see what your fingers are doing then steer clear. Or pay more for the Lycosa which I believe is the exact same keyboard only with backlit keys... I wish I had

i am typing this with the razer arctosa keyboard right now, it has been a week since i had purchased this item from curry's, i had to get the display model since there were non left in stock, order this from amazon, or razers website since this keyboard is very rare to find and is very popular.
I've had many keyboard before and i have to admit this is by far the best keyboard i have ever owned, you can customize this keyboard so much, you can change any key on the keyboard, and you can make 10! different profiles. it is so good that i have set it so that when i press f12 then it would open World of Warcraft and log me in, just by pressing one button, i don't even have to type my password, since it writes down my password for me.
Also this is the first keyboard that i can type extremely fast with, all the buttons are laid out perfectly, with this keyboard i rarely make mistakes.
All of these premium features of this keyboard without having to pay the premium price. (e.g a gamer keyboard that costs £100 wouldn't be as good as this one)
I definitely recommend you to buy this keyboard, you won't regret it.

By Jules TOP 1000 REVIEWER on 15 Oct. 2010
This Razer Arcosta keyboard (UK Layout) is my first step into gaming keyboards, having used a basic Logitech media keyboard for years with my gaming, i decided i would treat myself to a gaming keyboard. I looked at many sites & reviews of gaming keyboards, most were too expensive or unpracitcal for my needs & others i was unsure of the product quality. All i wanted was a nice mid-low budget gaming keyboard, with as minimal features as possible for a decent price, and so here i am with the Razer Arcosta Keyboard - Silver keys. There is an identical keyboard with black keys, which sounds & looks unpracitcal, i would had loved to had been at that meeting for making the decision(i assume they were smoking something herbal).

As i am learning with Razer products, they do take allot of care in the packaging alone, as the box is of very high quality, material wise very sturdy & more visualy pleasing to the eye than i have seen before. Looks wise the keybaord is not too shabby either, it's very slick with a matt gloss black/reflective material around the keys, however, the downside to that is it marks easily with fingerprints & smudges, that afte a while it looks like one of the CSI teams has been checking it for fingerprints, however they do come off with a soft cloth & allot of elbow grease. The wrist guard is made from the same material as the keys, so at least i dont get glare off it. And to be honest, to the layman if you did unscrew the wrist guard, the keyboard would look like pretty much any other keyboard out there imo, if you didnt know about all the extras we get behind the scenes.
