Like most modern day urban men, my book shelf is stacked with unopened cook books and unattended diet fad recipes. But unlike any other cook book I've come across, Raw Freedom makes it SUPER simple to make quick, delicious and super duper nutritious food. Meaning I haven't been able to put it down since I've bought it and I've even managed to impress my girlfriend wit ha few cheeky recipes, like the raw cheesecake. To.Die.For. Enjoy every page, enjoy ever mouth full.

I absolutely loved this recipe book - specialist, but not complicated, exclusive or sanctimonious. I'd never really been super conscious of raw, but since buying this lovely book, I've been more than inspired not only to up the raw aspect of my diet, but to think much more creatively about what and how I 'cook'. Saskia Fraser's recipes are very easy to follow and each recipe has a beautiful picture - not all recipe books do, something I find really annoying! It's almost a two-in-one book, actually: there's an extensive introduction section which more or less should be a small handbook in its own right, plotting out an introduction to eating raw.
I think the book contains around 80 recipes; I'm working my way through trying out different recipes and utterly loving the process. The layout is simple and there are handy conversion and ingredient replacement tips (some of the ingredients are quite specialist, but Fraser certainly recognises this fact). Definitely my favourite recipe book on my kitchen shelf!

I live out of this book. I went high raw 8 weeks ago and could not have done it without this very straight forward book. I usually expect one or two good recipes from a cookery book, there are literally dozens in this one. Raw pasta with cheesy sauce and peas is so yummy and comforting especially after a cold and tiring day. The wilted greens is an eye-opener - it would never occur to me to marinade kale! I particularly appreciate that I do not need a dehydrator or anything beyond a good blender (a £120 good blender not a £500 good blender). It is also worth mentioning that all these recipes work. They have clearly been tried and tested and I have found no mistakes, which is not true for all recipe books. Finally it is worth mentioning that if you want to be 'high-raw' rather than '100% raw' Saskia includes lots of suggestions for what she calls 'crossover-meals'.

If like me you need a lot of visual stimulation and hand holding to get you even vaguely in the mood for going beyond your regulate 2 pieces of toast for dinner, then this is the book for you!
What I love about Raw Freedom is that it caters to every level of ability AND occasion. It provides easy recipes for a quick ‘nosh up’ meal after cycling back from the gym to a ‘fancy pants’ desert to wow your guests at a dinner party….and yes I am referring to the Mint Chocolate Torte!.....(and the Rasberry Cheese Cake and the Rasberrry Cardamom Chia pudding, and, and, and…)
I always found the idea of Raw Food quite uninspiring but what becomes apparent from reading Saskia Fraser’s book Raw Freedom, is that I have been thinking of it in such a limiting way. This book outsmarts me with its 80 strong varied recipes and disarms me with its light and easy approach, not to mention a bright and beautiful photo for every recipe!
I appreciated how on page 37 Saskia provides substitute ideas for flavors; particularly useful for someone like me who is naturally prone to creative flare over good old fashion recipe following.
If you have even the smallest interest in Raw food or are a devout Raw foodie follower, then this book should not be missing from your bookshelf!

I have so enjoyed this book. I will never be a 100% raw foodie but love these recipes! This book has been a great addition to my cook book collection and I have bought it for several very appreciative friends. I have enjoyed Saskia's practical, friendly and flexible approach to nutrition and even though I might not follow every recipe as written it has influenced and inspired my "cooking" hugely!

I have a chronic health condition and part of my treatment protocol is to eat more raw food to boost enzyme and nutrient nourishment.

Frankly, I wasn't that keen on eating large amounts of salad and cold food, particularly with winter coming on, but needs must. Looked at several other raw food cook books, but wasn't inspired, One thing I *did* learn, though, was that cook books do not work well on kindle.

In the end, I determined to look on YouTube at various author's videos, in order to discover (a) what the food tasted like and (b) how much of a faff the recipes are to make. As a result, I tried out some author's recipes - with mixed results, as you can imagine.

What I wanted was good tasting food, not too many ingredients ... and preferably no need for a dehydrator.

Saskia's recipes were an immediate hit - interesting ingredients, not difficult to get hold of - and with a non judgemental attitude that can be hard to find in the raw food area.

So far I've tried a few of her recipes with not one of them turning out inedible. One or two I wouldn't bother with again ... but determined to have her healthy chocolate spread in my cupboard at all times. The spiralized pasta dishes are tasty, pesto is yum and even the nut "cheese" is satisfying and adaptable.

I particularly like the pictures for every recipe so that you know what you're aiming at.

A good investment for those transitioning to a higher raw diet - with no annoying "misspellings"!
