Product Description

Review

'The Christmas party season is over and it's time to get fit and healthy. The question is: how fit and healthy? Raw Food Detox is the more extreme form of abstainer. At least, that's the impression I got when I opened the book and saw the following line: Eat Sprouts and algae. Now, I like being fit, but scoffing algae does not exactly appeal. I scanned some scary looking detox programmes. I'm afraid detoxing is not my cup of tea (green, presumably). I persevered. My spirits rose when I was reminded that watercress (surely the most underrated leaf in the world) contains a dazzling supply of vitamins A and C, iron and calcium. 'Add it to your salads, juices and smoothies on a daily basis,' the author Anya Ladra commands. And I'd happily comply. I began to warm to the book. The juices and smoothies and salads look amazing. Last sunday, I went to the farmers' market and bought bags of mixed organic salad leaves that packed amazing flavours with a nutritional thumbs-up. And I suddenly realised I'd been 'detoxing' in a basic way all along. Only I call it eating healthily. Conclusion: handy health tips for all...including ant-detoxers.' --Image Interiors & Living magazine, Jan 13

'Accompanied by useful tidbits on what superfoods to pack into your meals, plus suggested detox plans. No better inspiration.' --Image IRE, Jan 13

I have never written a review before but felt compelled to endorse this fantastic book. Truly Cordon Bleu raw food. Words cannot describe how delicious everything is: from juices, smoothies, salads, dressings, tartlets made from nut pastry, even desserts. My favourites: Beet pate, kale salad, almond sauce, mushroom olive and tomato tartlets, lemon cashew cookies, green nut milk. I still haven't tried everything because I keep returning to my favourites! Even the pictures are gorgeous. The 5 day cleansing detox is a good way to introduce yourself to the recipes, but it does require organisation. I would not have been a vegetarian or a raw food advocate, but I am seriously converted to a daily raw food dimension to my diet having used Raw Food deTOX. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I don't usually write reviews, however really am enjoying this book. I started a raw food diet last year but found the recipe books I had to be too American with ingredients difficult to find and recipes laborious and time consuming to make. This book has some great and easy to make recipes that are healthy and away from just boring salads. Ingredients easy to find in health food stores or online.

Lovely book, beautifully laid out, enticing photographs. I have done and will keep doing many of the recipes. Salads, dips and dressings, crackers and puddings.
My kind of food - fresh, energising. If you eat this way - you will have extra hours in the day.

Beautiful book, great pictures. I am trying to eat raw vegan as much as possible, however many of the recipes in this book require a dehydrator which I don't have the space in my little kitchen to accommodate after buying a blender, food processor, juicer.

Inspiring book, great intro to raw food diet. Great and simple to make ideas, even for someone who wants to enrich his diet with raw food and not make an entirely raw food diet. Smoothies, sauces and crackers are awesome.Totally recommended.
