With a new manager in place, the mighty Mark Warburton, The People were confident that, this time, their team was going to make it into the Premiership. Just to make sure, the media joined in to play mind games with Hibs and even, looking ahead to next season, doing the same with Celtic. Meanwhile, there were still court cases to take care of. Mike Ashley hadn't gone away and neither had HMRC. But none of that mattered. They were 'still Rangers' and they were going to 'get back' to their 'rightful place' at the top of Scottish football. The media were building up Warburton and his team as world-beaters, which was setting them up for a fall. Surely, though, they couldn't fail again? The Championship was theirs, as was the Scottish Cup, the League Cup and even the one everyone wanted to win - the Petrofac Cup. The talk was of Quadruples and European glory. Yes, they were 'coming down the road'; just as long as the money held out and nobody asked any awkward questions!
