This is an excellent book for toy collectors who need information about their diecast toys and their approximate value. This is the second one my husband bought as his first was out of date and is used almost daily. Highly recommended

Informative, with nice colour photo's, essential reference material, high quality publication, well worth the investment. Need to bear in mind the 'condition' scaling factor to estimate real values as prices are shown as maximum for mint examples with boxes!

a great amount of information is contained in this book. It is very well organised and has two main purposes.
1. is to obtain an approximate valuation of your collection. This might be for insurance purposes or just as part of selling it off.
2.is to learn about the items that were available at a given time so knowing whether an item you would like was ever made, when it was made and whether it is like to be found, and at what price.

Disappointed with first impressions on dinky toy value section, for example Some of the rarest of the 40 series morris oxford light blue ones and sand coloured ones are valued at between £200 and £400 each which is without a doubt miles out should read well in excess of £1000 each
AC aceca number 167 The rarest of them being the all cream version which is not even listed .
The third one I looked for was a rover 75 in dark blue over cream or as it reads violet over cream value £200 to £250 I think this should read £500 to £1000 I have only checked three dinky toys and their hopelessly wrong or missing I dare not look any further
How can I trust this book for values.

This is the most authoritative of the diecast catalogues. Although it only deals with the older issues its accuracy and usefulness is in a class of its own.

Have used this book before but an earlier edition years ago to check values on toys I owned as a child. Very useful .

The decision to exclude most die-casts that have been produced in the last 25 plus years was most disappointing and makes the book a little bit pricey. To be fair it does say on the front cover that the listing covers years 1933 - 1983. It seems to favour Dinky and miss out all the Corgi Collectables which I was interested in. Obviously values fluctuate but I was also startled on the much lower figures now quoted. Strange that the cover title is banner headed 'British Diecast' as it includes several pages listing French Dinky products but again, it does say that at the bottom of the cover.
Regrettably, I have decided to give this book a miss for future editions.
