I had no idea of a few of the notes the book made, including that weight loss is common in newborns. Great tips on breastfeeding, getting babies to sleep and more as well. I'd highly recommend this to any other new moms out there.
The only reason that I didn't rate this as 5 stars was because of all the spelling and grammatical errors that I found. They didn't disrupt the book in such a way that I was unable to understand what Ms. Holloway was saying, but they were noticeable.
I personally already had a child so, even though I know what that first-time anxiety feels like and I have obviously gone through it before, I still also am aware that there are many ways that I can improve my parenting and subsequently help my children in the best way possible. I did consider myself quite competent and thought I was already prepared enough for my second (whom is on the way) but I am extremely glad that I decided to read the book, as I found myself picking up some tips that I'm sure will prove to be very useful, especially the advice regarding encouraging motor skill development and healthy speech/language development.
In an attempt to put it briefly, the book is an absolute 'must-read' in my opinion and I highly recommend it to any kind of future and current parents out there!
Both these books should be required reading for new parents. It covers everything you could possibly want to know and things you never even knew you needed to know! Did that make sense lol?
Great section on the first few days as well as tips with sleeping, and learning the different noises babies make and possible meanings. I highly recommend!
