Jaxxon Carter's unbreakable spirit shine from the moment she's presented on the page; 14 years old, in the social care system and alone. Through her wit, sarcasm and strength she takes you along on her journey and you're rooting for her all the way. Connor Mckenzie is a realistic depiction of the commitment-phobic male, though as with most male protagonist of romantic fiction , he beats his chest and grunts "me man, you woman" or words to that effect quiet a lot and is a stalker, (I'd be really interested in knowing why authors think stalker-like tendencies is a necessary ingredient for a romantic fiction hero) but he has also been through the care system and so somehow you do find yourself giving him a bit more leverage/rope. As you progress through the book you'll find that you want these two characters to get together, you enjoy that she gives him a hell of a run for his money on the way, but ultimately you want them to become a couple...you invest in them.
I read this book in a night, and likely to re-read it again. Suzanne Wright has done a great job and I would recommend this wholeheartedly. BUY THIS BOOK.
The story is based on them reuniting, or more likely Connor wants to make up for years lost of sexual deprivation where Jaxxon's concerned, and Jaxxon is not interested as she knows that Connor is dangerous for her. Throw in and ex with a fake pregnancy, a lunatic that wants a piece of Jaxxon, 3 honorary uncles and a starstruck model friend and this is a fab story between a sarcastic model and a confused alpha male!
I have thoroughly enjoyed every bit of this book. I would have paid a lot more money for this, at a £1 it was a steal! I'm looking forward to reading a lot more of Suzanne Wright's books in the future
Congratulations to the self published author.
Jaxx is another strong character in the book, having a confidence & feisty character that I just fell in love with and could seriously take some life lessons from whilst Conner is the bad boy you just can't resist. :)
It's a fab book which is already on my re-read list!
And yes, I can understand that this book isn’t for everyone, the woman character likes to curse a lot and the man character is very stubborn and dominant but for me… I just loved them both. The writer Suzanne Wright has a way of telling stories that I really like. I find them very refreshing and the main characters like to speak their minds, no playing games or telling lies.
Jaxxon Carter is a young woman who grew up in foster care. It’s there that she met Connor McKenzie, a boy who’s two years older than her. The day he left their foster home he took her heart with him. He promised her that he would visit her but he never did. He wasn’t the only person that left her but he was the one that mattered the most to her. But life goes on and so did Jaxxon.
Life hasn’t been easy for Jaxxon but she’s doing her best to make the most of it.
However, she never expected to be one of those girls that would be ‘discovered’ by someone and then become a famous model. That’s not really her but if you get the chance to earn a lot of money then you take it and that’s just what Jaxxon did.
When Connor McKenzie sees Jaxxon on the cover of a magazine he’s curious. It makes him wonder what happened to that young girl that he once knew all those years ago. But he never expected that she would be mad at him. From the first reunion Jaxxon and Connor (and their friends) know that something special is happening but both Jaxxon and Connor are afraid of it, so they fight it in their own special way.Read more ›
