good piece of kit

just installed one of these first impression OMG THIS IS A BIG CARD make sure it will fit in your case. I have an antec 1200 case old i know but still good and this card just fits with a bit of room to spare. This card has a small overclock of about 50mgz on gpu and ram. Asus software is good nice monitoring and tweaking software all easy to install. On first use of this card had a clicking noise when under load seemed to be from on of the fans catching something, gave it a tap it went away. Was going to return it as faulty but next night gave it another go and have not had the problem again and its been over a week now can only assume that it has settled in lol. Must be something to do heat acting on heatsink and plastic shrouds and fans. Performance WOW this was an upgrade from a radeon HD5870. Noise is very low but not sure on power draw currently using 500w psu in a core i7 system with no problems. Overall very good piece of kit plays all games maxed out at 1080p with no probs. Can only give it 4 stars because of initial clicking noise but for performance and noise level will give it a 5+

Good card, poor instructions

Have only had it for one day, but quite happy with the purchase. Gave a much-needed boost to my 5 year old system at a reasonable price. Along with upping my ram to 16gb, graphics on Elite:Dangerous went from "recommended: medium" to "recommended: ultra".

Taking one star away for the complete lack of relevant instructions. I haven't built/upgraded a desktop PC in a while, so this was my first card that hooks up to the PSU. Thankfully google eventually provided the answer, but I find it ridiculous that the "manual" was showing 5 different schematics, none of which were relevant to the card I was holding in my hands. At least the rest of the setup was a breeze, only a single restart needed (previous card was also AMD so the driver auto-detected the change).

Fantastic card. I tested this on batman arkham city demo available on steam. it played well. graphics are better by a long way than the xbox 360. produced high scores on the 3d benchmark test. this is a solid card. i am playing Alien Isolation at Ultra settings 1080p (could be better with a 1080p tv and higher - mine is a 720p LCD monitor from 2007. still going strong.)

I have to say this is a used card solid by Amazon warehouse. arrived well packaged. no scuffing and ugly marks. plays like it is new. i love the asus cards, they are quiet cards even when gaming. i dont overclock and have no need for it.

It has improved the visual quality of graphics on my pc by a long way. i feel like going back to pc gaming, however, i iwll buy the ps4 next year for family entertainment as my other half loves lego games and I want to treat them to blu ray 3d films.

It made the system unstable and brought it to many crashes (BSOD).
I will do my best to have my money back or a replacement and full support

I am now making a review of this previous statements, I have tried to fix something here and there, cleaning the registry and put some step by step analisys of the whole thing.

I am now running smoothly and happy with the card. though I could not try it with high performance gamings I will do it very soon and see where it leads.

I am also having good support from asus.

Unfortunately I could not manage to fix the problems and I am returning the card. Not sure if there is driver incompatibility or else..
I am going for another card which will not give me bsod.

New Card For Me

I pulled my faithfull Radeon 5850 from my machine to make way for this card. I am a fan of both AMD and and Asus, so this fit the bill. It's not so big so should fit in a medium size case (mines massive so no probs anyway). It used just one 6 point connector (some use two I think). It has an excellent cooling system on board, looks well engineered and fit easily and without problems. After putting it in my machine, whilst the computer was booting up and got the driver disk out ready to install. I was amazed though because I didn't need to use it to install the drivers, the comp did it all. The card was recognised and all driver files downloaded automatically. Anyway if that doesn't happen for you, there are the disks. There is an overclock tool that couldn't be simpler to use and the software and any drivers are updated automatically. Another great card from Asus. The card runs smooth and unless your a gamer that runs a 4K monitor and the toughest games, then you probably don't need anything more powerful. At the price, getting another and crossfiring the boards is an easy solution to such extremes anyway. Very happy with the purchase and strongly recommend this card.

Great card for £210.

Bought it for £209.99 so I think it was a good deal, huge improvement from r9 270 oc. It gets a bit hotter than I expected from such a big radiator even after re-applying thermal paste (in unigine valley benchmark gets to 85C, in crysis3 gameplay 74C) however it gets 10C cooler if you tweak fans speed up a little bit. Note that it is a huge piece of card (weighs over 1.1 kg). I have 650W PSU from BeQuiet and i5 4670, 4gb ram. Overall I am very pleased with it but if you can afford gtx 970 I would give this one a go.

I am overall very happy with this graphic card and I can see a big difference from my old one. It runs all my games on the highest settings and the detail is amazing! I currently have this bad boy in a Corsair Carbide Series 300R, it does fit however the power cables are crunching up against the side of it but not a lot.

The only slight downfall is that it can get very hot and I did add in an extra fan on top, blowing air in! So I would recommend adding in another fan if you have room.
