I wouldn't have bothered with a review except the chair aged rapidly and is now fit to be thrown out. I don't know if a £90 chair should last less than 19 months of use by a smallish person?
Anyway, Pros and Cons ...
PRO: Looks good if you like that kind of thing
PRO: Probably a reasonable starter for those of short stature who like to recline while gaming (maybe it was designed for small oriental folk?)
PRO: There's a slide-out footrest, which still works
PRO: I guess £90 isn't bad for a half-decent gaming chair
CON: Unfortunately it IS only 'half decent'
CON: Seat height, even at full rise, isn't high enough for anyone over 5'3", which was my son's height when I bought this for him (otherwise it would have gone straight back)
CON: The lift mechanism got progressively stiffer and seized about four months ago
CON: The recline won't sit up straight enough even when new, which may not trouble gamers but that too seized eventually
CON: The slide-out footrest is basically irrelevant unless you lie flat, which you couldn't even if you wanted to, after the recline seized (see above)
CON: Arm rests are very low—might suit gaming; not much good for other uses (routine office work)
CON: Arm rests are also a very unpleasant plastic, NOT metal, and rapidly became wonky
CON: Tatty stitching in places (nailclippers needed)
SUMMARY: My boy was pleased with it initially. It has seen daily use, but he is of slight build, and this really shouldn't have worn the chair out so fast. Having purchased my own office chair at one of those 'home depot' places a few months back for about the same price (it was on offer, mind you), the superior quality of the latter is striking. I strongly suspect that if you could try it out in a shop full of other, varied gaming/office chairs ... you wouldn't buy this one.
