Well written light story. A little bit of suspense and a little bit of romance. A nice rounding up of the characters from the first book. Hopefully more to follow.....

Undemanding, comfortable reading. Pleasing, gentle storyline and involves women's traditional skill of patchwork. A safe book for night time reading.

HASH(0x8d249d14) out of 5 stars She's done it again 15 Jun. 2013

Format: Kindle Edition
Carol Dean Jones missed her calling by spending many years as a geriatric social worker, she should have started her career as an author many years ago, just imagine what we have been missing from her. This is her second work and I was just as engrossed from the beginning as I was during the first novel. What a mastery of the world of fiction this woman possesses. I'm really thrilled with the blossoming love between Charles and Sarah and again I adore Sophie and Barney. I can't wait to find out what Sophie does next. Love the book, can't wait til the next one comes out. Please keep writing Ms. Jones.

HASH(0x8d24a044) out of 5 stars Good read, but..... 1 Nov. 2013

I like Carol Jones' mystery series because they are interesting little mysteries with an ensemble cast of characters about my age with a quilting theme. Her books remind me of episodes of Murder She Wrote, and are an entertaining read. The story lines are developed well, but the only thing that keeps me from giving them a higher rating is the annoying errors in all her works! Obvious misspellings and glaring misuse of homanymns and all the ridiculous typos are so distracting! Seriously, if a book is worth publishing, it should be worth proofing by a human being. If I were Ms. Jones, I would be demanding a real proofing before publication.

HASH(0x8d249f3c) out of 5 stars Running Stitches: A Quilting Cozy 29 July 2013
By Hanover Stine - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Too much time wasted working for others, Carol should have been writing books to be enjoyed. Running Stitches was hard to put down, and I can't wait for the next installment of Sarah and company. I like that she is including more people like Ruth,Katie and Amanda, we can even go in another direction with all the new members to the community. Keep the books coming.

When I reviewed the first book, Tie-Died, I stated I was disappointed that we did not find answers to all the little extras in the book, like what happened to the quilt, or if there was anything in it, what happened to the person arrested for the murder etc. however, all this is answered in this book. I loved reading the last book because the characters were so great. This time is no exception. All the new characters are just as great, and we find out more about the back story for some of the original characters in Tie Died. The characters drive the story. Even if there was not a murder or mystery, this would be a book very worth reading. I especially loved reading about all the different quilt blocks and the possible history behind some. I had heard some of these stories about the blocks before, and hope there is some truth in them. This is definitely a book worth reading, and I can not wait to read the next one. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
