Great powered USB hub. Provides plenty of power

I've got quite a few gadgets on my desk which either need powering via USB or need charging. I'm sick of reaching around the back of the computer to change cables so decided that this powered hub was the best option.

This hub is excellent. For starters it draws its power from a regular plug rather than your computer so it can output plenty of power to your devices

Each of the 7 USB ports are USB 3 so you can transfer data quickly

Each of the ports can be turned on or off individually so you don't need to unplug your cables when you've finished charging them. You can also use the HUB to power on and off devices like USB fans without having to use the devices switch.

The hub itself feels well made and the rubber feet underneath help it to stay in place on your desk.

I'm well and truly happy with this hub and would recommend it to anyone looking to power multiple USB devices

7-port powered hub now has 4 x 4TB USB drives attached to it and is working perfectly, Very useful indeed & no effort to set up - just plugged it in, attached it to another powered multi-port USB hub with attached USB drives (my laptop only has 2 USB ports & one is used by the mouse & I now have 10 USB drives), plugged in the USB drives and they appeared within a few seconds. This is of course just what should happen, but in my experience often doesn't!

This is cheap (referring to its construction not its price) plastic trash, junk, feel free to think of other synonyms

When I used this Hub, my connected Western Digital External Hard drives began making the dreaded “click of death”. Usually, when you hear that sound, that is a clue that the drive is dying so backing it up is needed. Rather than do that, I thought, let see what happens if I plug the drives into a different Hub, so I did and the click of death stopped. This indicates that this Hub either does not provide enough power to the External Harddrives connected to it, or it provides too much. Either way, it does not work as it should.

Easy to install and fast multiple USB connection

Easy to install and works well so far. Have been using it now for a couple of weeks, usually with 4 of the 7 USB outlets on (sometimes 5), including 2 external hard discs and a DVD recorder / player - sometimes with all running. The USB connections all remain fast. One proviso - start laptop / PC before connecting USB splitter, otherwise Windows 10 gets confused over which disc to start from. (Not a problem with previous Windows versions & NOT a splitter problem, just one of the many Windows 10 "improvements" to work around, though not as tricky as getting old software to run under Windows 10). In short, very pleased with this USB splitter.

Bluetooth Interference/Not enough power.

I have a Bluetooth mouse and tried to use this hub with 4 portable hard drives. When first plugging in my laptop did not recognise the drive and my Bluetooth mouse stopped working. Switched off the mouse on and off and then the laptop recognised my drive.

However the disk drives started making mechanical clunking noises as if they weren't getting enough power.

Tried rebooting the laptop with the hub plugged in and it would not start. So unplugged the hub and my laptop started up.

So this hub is going on the bin for 3 reasons.

1) Does not supply enough power for 4 WD portable drives. 3 4tb and 1 5tb. Possibly would cause hard drive failure due to the clunking noises it causes.
2) Interferes with my Bluetooth mouse.
3) Only randomly works with my drives due to the above.

I have three amazon basics hubs from years ago that power dozens of hard drives without issue. But they don't make them anymore.

So be warned if you want to power more than one ot two hard drives and have Bluetooth enabled devices as this hub may cause issues and hard drive corruption.

This USB-C hub is excellent in terms of its links to the Mac Mini to which it is attached; I particularly like the separate switches for each unit that I have plugged in as this feature allows me to have everything plugged in permanently but to choose when I want to use something (in particular, my external drive).
However, it has one significant flaw which took me a while to work out. I assumed that it needed power to operate, so connected the supply before attaching it to the computer. Very soon afterwards my Bluetooth connections to both the keyboard and mouse began playing up; both dropped the link and it took ages for them to re-connect but then within a few minutes it happened all over again. In frustration (particularly after it made me mess up the final stages of an important order) I switched off the computer and left it for the night. Next day, after giving the problem some thought, I went back and took away the power supply - miraculously, the Bluetooth signal reappeared and has been stable ever since! I still have no idea what was going on, but would recommend that if the hub is being used with a Mac, then you should not use the power supply at all.

I bought this USB hub to replace a hub that had started to misfunction and so that I had a few USB sockets to spare if I needed them for unexpected additions of USB connections (can I advice prospective purchasers that they will need to use the cables that are supplied as existing cables may not fit) due to adding additional of other computer based products. This Hub met my needs without any problems and I liked the way users can switch off ports that are not in use. I am very pleased with this product and would recommend it to all prospective purchasers.
