Excellent value for money for a top brand.
At first I was worried at the feel of the headphones. They felt very light and a bit flimsy, also I was not impressed with the amount of squeeze on my ears from the headphones. They feel so loose against my ears I would be worried for sound leakage but they seem ok so far, I have a pretty big head too so these would not be good for a girl or anyone with a small head!
Sound quality is very hard to fault at this price point and is among the best I have heard. The bass is very present but not over bearing and is very clear and deep, it's quite impressive listening to Rage Against The Machine a record I heard countless times. The mids are very clear and also the highs. There is no "harsh" frequencies that make my ears hurt after many hours of listening. I think Roland have presented a very competitive headphones at this price point matching phones costing a lot more in sound quality; but you pay the price with the build materials. Although that said I have not had any issues with the robustness yet, let's see after being thrown in a bag, carried miles around with other kit, use in extreme conditions and if they don't get blown off due to light weight and looseness on skull. So I gave them 4 out of 5 stars. If it was most solid with better cling to my head I would give 5 out of 5.
I would recommend these for their intended purpose or monitoring instruments also to: DJ's due to their amazing bass and overall clarity, budget studio wanting decent tracking and monitoring phones, location recordists and anyone that wants good headphones (although for MP3 useage the cable is a bit long to carry around).Read more ›
