Roccat ROC-11-810 Kone XTD Max Customisation Gaming Mouse
I bought this mouse to replace the exact same one that had developed an issue after some juice was inadvertently spilt. My fault, bad me.
I love this mouse, hence buying another straight away without hesitation.
I am an avid PC gamer, mainly playing first person shooter type games, so the micros witches under the left and right finger buttons take a hammering.
The mouse is well packaged, and comes in a nice box with a quality look and presentation.
It is a solid feeling mouse, and is intended for right handed users. Therefore is not ambidextrous.
Fitted with top spec switches, the "clicks" are quiet by comparison to most other mice I have used.
You have the standard right and left finger buttons, two side buttons for the thumb (good positioning means I can reach them both without effort), a sturdy but nice feeling scroll wheel with micro switch for direct click down, and fitted with left and right micro switches for tilting left and right. It also has a button in front of the scroll wheel, and two behind it. All the buttons are able to be configured through the software. More on that later.
It is a laser mouse, with a max 8200DPi and is adjustable at 200DPi increments using the software and buttons as needed. You can also get an optical version with a max 6400DPi, but I like this one.
There is a supplied box of weights (4 x 5 Gram weights)to fit into a recessed compartment in the base, so can be weighted for the best feel to you.
The surface is a smooth black mat finish, but is does a good job of feeling grippy. I can tell you that after over a year of hard use on my last one, the only real wear was the logo part worn away from my palm.
The cable is a good length at around 1.8 meters long, and is braided cloth covered.
The software supplied is also excellent, with a lot of features.
The Main control page allows you to change sensitivity, vertical scroll speed for the wheel, horizontal tilt speed, DPI settings(5 presents that you can choose to set for quick change using the mouse buttons - I use the 2 behind the wheel for up and down), and double click speed settings.
Button assignment page allows you to set the button usage, which is great for the games that have some stuff "locked " to a specific keyboard key.
Advanced control page allows changing the advanced sensitivity, tracking control(to enhance tracking accuracy), distance control(to change lift off sensitivity- distance from mat so it doesn't pick up you repositioning the mouse during high speed gaming, as we all do). Polling rate- up to 1000 Hz( refreshes to system per second), sound feedback( when a setting is changed) and windows pointer speed.
Colour control page allows you to change the mouse LED (4 LED in total with independent settings) colours and effect (Fully lit, blinking, heartbeat, all lights off and my favourite...breathing).You can change the flow effect (all lights up simultaneously, flow direction up, flow direction down, flow direction left, flow direction right and no flow). Also you can change the effect speed(slow, med, fast).
Profiles: You can set up to 5 profiles to activate automatically when a program or game is launched, and of course save them for future use as needed.
I cannot recommend this mouse enough. I have has just about every mouse out there through the years, and since the old "Microsoft explorer mouse", I was never happy with the feel in the hand, not until I came across these.
Would I recommend to friends and family... defiantly, YES
Would I buy again... I did, and would again tomorrow if I needed to.
Thanks for reading, and I hope some information was useful.

I also have the Logitech G9x (before that I had the logitech G9) - as gaming mice they did let me down but in everyday use I liked them both very much.
I also had 2 Roccat Kone (+) mice, the first one malfunctioned, got it changed, the second one gave up after 6 months. I got a full refund from Amazon (I love you guys :)) and went ahead and bought the XTD.
So, in form and looks this pretty much tallies up with the (+). The difference being DPI and an onboard chip on the XTD. The XTD also feels different from a textural point of view, softer, smoother. It also feels a little bit flatter, which I personally dont like, but it is very minimal.
All in all, this mouse is great. The software is fantastic (and that doesnt come easy). I dont use EasyShift much so I dont care about that as 8 buttons is enough to use imo. I do love the lighting but its a gimmick and no reason to buy a mouse.
I play on a 46 inch LED TV and having control on a large screen like that is a challenge. Not with the XTD (and (+)). They give you a feeling of control that is honestly second to none. This mouse is cheaper than a couple of others that I have mentioned and is more reliable and feels superior. I miss this mouse when I'm not at home and will rebuy if it breaks again. I cant see my main mouse changing anytime soon.
If you are thinking of buying it dont hesitate. you will not regret it - well worth the money!
It's far from the cheapest mouse but it's reliable and will serve well. I had always been a Logitech fan back in the day before they started making repulsive software that hamstrung their hardware, so when my second G5 died (it was already out of production when I scraped my second) I had high standards and was looking for a comfortable mouse with extra buttons. I never liked the Naga style as all the buttons are bunched together, but this has mousewheel tilt like the G5 to provide the extra buttons. This mouse has met and exceeded my expectations without fuss.
The lasers are great, no skipping about like opticals can, but check that the DPI settings match your needs as there aren't loads of options.
After 3+ years of use I can vouch for the build quality. The logo on the palm will degrade after 1-2 years of regular use but I feel confident the mechanicals and electronics will stay solid for another 2 years - so 5+ years total. Most mice with wheels that tilt to click tend to lose that button first, and also make your middle mouse button tricky to hit reliably and quickly. No such concerns with this, the mousewheel is stable and solid and the associated buttons are hardwearing. Scroll is another thing that can go quickly after a few years, either jumping or missing steps - again no problems here.
My only minor criticism on usability is that the buttons on top, both in front of the mousewheel but especially the pair behind are awkwardly placed and also quite stiff. That said, they remain suitable for binding to sensitivity increase/decrease or lesser-used functions and I'd rather them be this way than be accidentally activated in my palm from being too soft.
The software is good, although binding doesn't work for some keys and will cause you hassle if you don't want to use a thumb button for the EasyShift, but it is workable and in the main the options are excellent. Colours are good but not comprehensive for those looking to customise aesthetics.
The customisable weight system is excellent, though in context it's something you'll mess with for 5 minutes when you set up then completely forget, which is actually convenient because the spare weights and their cute little case will definitely get lost down the back of something.
The drivers are solid, and if you don't think that's important you will change your mind the first time you find something with poor drivers.
Overall, a great investment. Not the cheapest but not the most expensive, and this one takes on the best at a lower price point.
