Working in a nursery I find this to be the book I go to for descriptions of plants, where to grow and how, I would not be without it.
As you would expect of an RHS publication, this encyclopaedia is hugely informative, covering a wide range of cultivars and varieties within the plant listings and providing all the necessary detail as to cultivation, propagation method, height & spread. The alphabetical listings are interspersed with lots of photos and boxes containing information about plant combinations. I am a plant enthusiast and garden designer and this is something of a bible for me.
We don't have access (in Australia) to all the wonderful perennials in this book, but it enables me to assess other varieties and species within the plant genera I am interested in.
