Good WiFi extender but installation a little more difficult than claimed by manufacturer.

I purchased this Item as it met all of my requirements, i.e. Dual Band, passthrough, ethernet connection and a reasonable price.
I use a BT Smart Hub6 for my wifi and ethernet network and BT fibre 1 broadband. I first started the installation using the WPS option but it only installed the 2.4GHz band so I followed the instructions and repeated the installation but it still failed to light up the 5GHz LED.
I then decided to use the TP Link Tether App which I installed on my iPhone. This did work and I was able to install both the 2.4 and 5GHz bands.
I then had to rename the 2 extended band SSID's to match my existing SSID's, this involved removing the -EXT extention to the name. This was quite a simple operation using the Tether App.
This extender now gives me a 'Very Good' 5GHz signal strenth in the area where I previously got a 'marginal' strength on my Amazon firestick and the ethernet connection is working fine with my desk top PC.
So overall I rate this item as very good but installation as only 3 stars.

I read a few negative reviews about this WiFi Extender but know from experience that often the reason the product gets a bad review is due to the end users lack of knowledge rather than the product itself, it's what is commonly known as a Picnic (problem in chair, not in computer) I decided to take a punt on this device and glad I did, it was very easy to install and set up and gives me exactly what I bought it for, an extended WiFi signal out into the back garden where my main router doesn't quite reach with perfect signal out of the box. I haven't used it as an access point only a WiFi Extender but from what I have seen so far I have no reason to suspect it won't work as well as it currently does.

There are probably better devices out there but you won't be paying less than £30 for them and as value for money goes this is extremely good value.

Having used one of their older model 850RE for many years without any problem.
This one however is completely the opposite.
Having to reboot very often to get it to reconnect, this is more so now we all have to stay at home. Very much a daily reboot is needed, as well as random drop out.
When it’s working, and if you don’t move around, the signal is good.
Another thing I don’t like this extender is how it handle the data connection. Data between your device and the internet is proxy over the extender (MAC address of your device changes, diff IP), so if you moving around the house, you likely to completely loss connection before able to reconnect.

Solved my WiFi strength problem!

I started becoming that annoying person in work Skype or Zoom meetings whose connection always froze and who would have to constantly drop out of calls to reset their WiFi.

So, I bought the TP-Link RE360 two months ago to see if giving my WiFi a bit of a boost wouldn’t fix my problems and I haven’t had a single problem since!

It actually seems to work faster than my actual WiFi hub!

This product is the most useless tech I've ever had the misfortune to get. IT DOESNT EXTEND wifi, but it does suck the life out of your bandwidth to not provide anything. Signal drop if from 2 feet away, it was set up by my kitchen window to extend our wife to the patio, no signal a yard away from it outside. WHAT A COMPLETE CON THIS PRODUCT IS. it doesnt do what its required and I wouldnt give this company any more business

As a repeater it's not great, it wouldn't work more than a few metres from the router and it repeated using the same frequencies. As an access point it wont work independently i.e. it has to be plugged into a non-wireless router via an ethernet cable - its got powerline networking so why don't they enable it as a proper AP (probably to not take business from their AP sales).

Not a good product so I'm going to buy a standard AP and plug the uplink into a poweline box or get a proper AP over powerline if I can.

Very pleased with the performance of the Range Extender. Simple to set-up, just followed instructions in Quick Installation Guide. Using the Range Extender to deliver a strong Wi-Fi signal to an Outbuilding at my home. Wi-Fi serves the Wireless Printer I have, and I use the Ethernet Socket for my Laptop. So far so good !!
