This product was recommended by a workmate i met in the gym
But having read sparkies previous review before buying, i had my reservations.
But the straps did exactly what they are supposed to.
They are really supposed to be for heavy lifters, i wouldn't describe myself as a particularly heavy lifter in the gym, I lift a reasonable amount but often have to stop on exercises like shrugs, dumbell rows and deadlifts because my grip gives out before my arms.
So my reasons for buying the straps was due to having previously injured tendons in my hands and arms and getting recurring problems with them. I work as an abseiler, so between my work and the gym, i can do a lot of pulling exercises. I get pain in my arms, wrist and hands and it can affect my grip.
The product picture shows the pad resting on the hand, but i used it with the pad wrapped around the opposite side of the bar and back under my hand and it took virtually all the load off my hand and supports it on my wrists and stops any chance of the bar rolling in my hands.
The straps were of very robust construction, the wide wrist strap gave good support on the wrists, the stitching was solid and the pad itself gives good grip.
I really cannot see too much wrong with this product, it will help me lift more in the gym and protect my hands from injury.

I purchased to help me with DB deadlifts as my hands get sore (Im a girl!) and gloves aren't enough when lifting heavy. These do the trick for the weight I lift currently, but DONT BUY FROM AMAZON! They are cheaper on other sites and even direct from RDX - look around for a much better price.

These are so much better than the conventional lifting straps you can buy. They feel so much more secure. Unfortunately they just don't last very long.

The price seems to fluctuate a lot. I am currently without a pair because my last ones ripped. I was going to buy a new pair here last week and they were £10. I got distracted and didn't finish the purchase, came back today to get them and they're £16. That's too much. So I'll keep an eye on them and wait till they're reasonably priced. A product that when used properly only has a 3 or 4 month lifespan should not cost that much.

Of its type, this is the best value out there. The construction, as with all RDX products, is superb and the price is low. If you know this is the type of grip you want then you will do no better than this one.

For heavy weightlifting there are three or four options: traditional straps, which loop round your wrist and then loop several times around the bar; hooks which also loop round your wrist then have an easy, fairly rigid 'hook' which goes under the barbell, or these which are a flexible non-slip gel pad which goes around the bar.

The issue I have with straps is the set up time - by the time I loop the strap around the bar I'm no longer psyched up for the lift, and I'm generally in a poor position to lift. I find it easy to 'brace' myself while standing, reach down and lift almost immediately.

These gel pads have a shorter set up time - however they still do take some time to bend the gel pad around the bar. Unlike hooks, which are pre-formed to fit around the bar, these are straight, meaning they travel along your wrist, along the front of your palm to your fingertips in a straight line. To get them around the bar takes a bit of fidgeting - and again, this can mean that you are out of position or no longer psyched for your lift.

It does get better - as you wear them in, the pads start to curl slightly, but it's still not quite enough to make the set up seamless.

Having said that, if you know that these gel pad type straps are for you then this is a great purchase. I've held a deadlift of well over 100kg with one finger using these, so the non-slip pad really works.

For me, I'll be trying hooks - but keeping with the RDX brand as I have never been disappointed with the quality of their items.

For those of you who get fatiqued in the forearm look no further than these weight lifting straps, they are designed to take the pressure off you fingers when pulling the bar,and yes they work. Well made ( better than most i've seen or used on the market )very rugged ,mine have showed no signs of wear ,and they are used most evening. I would recommened these straps to anyone who is serious about weight training.

This is quite a good product especially for machine trainees. Do not regard this as an alternative to gym gloves. In fact, this is a variant of gym list straps, without which your grips would exhaust before adding enough burden on your arms and shoulders. The idea is the same. However, unlike free weights, you cannot roll the shafts/handles for machines, but this gear fits machine training especially well. As somebody has already wrote, wrap shafts/handles with this and your palm. Do not have this between your palms and shafts/handles; i.e., do not use this as a cushion, though you can use this in that way.
One negative side is this product wear out quickly; the list band and flap can be separated easily. I have already purchased this a couple of times in the past 12 months.
