Lovely graphics and beautiful interface, a real pleasure to look at and use and this would have received 5 stars from me except for it being too US centric.
Example. Early in the game, one of the clues is "Briefs and boxer makers" (something like that). I didn't have a clue and had to use hints to spell each letter out (Hanes) as I'd never heard of the company. In fact, now I think about it, using a company name as one of the answers isn't so good unless it's one of the global giants like Pepsi or BMW and even then it's questionable practice.
So I've had to knock 2 stars off it, which is a shame really. If you live in the US you probably won't have any problems with it, but anywhere else I think you're going to run into problems along the way.
Great for those who enjoy cryptic word puzzles. As mentioned in other reviews it is geared slightly more to American General knowledge however, to solve these I have just answered the ones I've worked out and used the letters left to answer the rest (even if it does take a couple of tries). Bright easy to read on the kindle. Can't complain for the app of the day (not many I'm willing to keep this one I will) :-)
Kindle Fire HD. This was a free app of the day and it was great. I really like playing it even though some of the answers were angled towards the US and took some working out, it all added to the fun of it and then I found it was over. I had done all the puzzles and felt really sad there were no more waiting for me to solve.
If you like crosswords and word puzzles this is for you. Quotes are very entertaining. A very small number of clues are American orientated so do not feel bad about using the hints for these. Looking forward to playing the later categories. Great value. Simple yet clever interface. Should provide weeks of entertainment.
This is a great game, which works very well. The controls are simple enough and precise.
Unfortunately some of the clues/answers are too American and have little meaning to those outside the US. E.g. Q: Upscale hotel? A: Westin. It is an American only brand. Then there is the problem with American spellings.
This game is fantastic! With a mix of old quotes, recent quotes, funny quotes and serious quotes, there's something for everyone. Some clues and answers I've never heard of so I suppose that's the American side coming out but it certainly doesn't take anything away from the game. definitely worth buying!
