4.0 out of 5 stars Elegant 6 Oct. 2016
By Jennifer Zamboni - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
This was an elegantly written piece. The main character, Viper, definitely feels like something "other," through the entire narrative. The Elizabethan chapters felt real & consistent. My only problem with the modern chapters, is they still had a bit of an archaic feel to them, I think mostly coming from the dialogue. All in all, a fascinating read! I look forward to the sequel!

5.0 out of 5 stars Already a classic in my mind 1 April 2016
By E.B. Hood - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Viper, I have been excited for this book. You know when you're really waiting for something, but hoping it won't suck. You get worried about it not living up to your expectations, so you down play in your mind, just in case. Well, no worries, this book rocks. Lets me stay why, I was so excited to read this book.
First is first, I love vampires, or vampire like creatures. Of course, this would not surprise anyone who knew me. Viper was the kind of monster I love reading about. She old, detached, and can kill you without a backward glance… yet, there more to her. She has heart, reason, and motive. It is truly a great author who can hold these things together, without destroying the monster. You know, making it more human, Viper is out of this world. The more to this book than the monster, plenty of other characters, with personality and motives of their own. No cardboard cut outs in this book, nicely flushed out characters, characters you believe in.
Now that alone had me excited, but he comes the thrilling part (and the part that had me a little worried.) Do you love history? Well, I do. I especially love certain periods of history. Elizabeth 1, or the 1500 in general, I love it. I have a thing for historical fiction, I enjoy the, (what if?) Still, this can be hard to do. To blend history with fantasy and not distort history, or have history distort your story. Well, Queen's Viper does it and does with honors. Read this book, even if you don’t like history, you will enjoy, but if you’re a fan of Elizabeth 1 and all the drama around her amazing story, you will walk away smiling. I did!
