Episodes 1 to 4 are awesome!
I really enjoyed episodes 1 to 4, although there was a lot of material that I had come across before, these episodes consolidated my understanding and made for a thoroughly enjoyable watch.
Sadly, episode 5 is where it started to go downhill. I managed to finish it but I didn't feel satisfied, I'm not sure if it was the people, the production or the content... or a combination of them all but it was "meh".
I couldn't finish episode 6, it was making me angry, I had to stop. Pointless and cheesy camera shots that provided no value what so ever and commentary that offered plenty of words but minimal content...

Watchable, but drawn out.
Do we really need to watch twenty minutes of a group of random people travelling around Britain measuring gravity at different heights just to demonstrate the simple fact that gravitational force decreases with distance, all the time accompanied by crappy stock guitar music? It's like watching schoolkids on a field trip. There are much clearer ways of illustrating this principle, so the only reason I can imagine why they persisted with this mind-numbing activity throughout the first episode was to fill it out with the pretty scenery of Britain. I had to stop watching three-quarters of the way through due to sheer boredom. It's pity because the little bits in between this boring tour of Britain were quite interesting, such as the reconstruction of Cavendish's experiments.

Irksome lazy use of language.
Why, after explaining that the force of gravity does not exist, do scientists use the force of gravity to demonstrate the warping of space time. Also referring to molecules of air which do not exist, air is a mixture not a compound.

Fascinating topics if you're curious about the universe and its mysteries
Very enjoyable scientific documentary series. Episodes 5 and 6 feel like they were produced by a completely different team and bought in and grafted onto the end of this series. What does ep 5 have to do with quarks and quantum mechanics? Very strange.
It should have covered topics such as "teleportation" which the Chinese are experimenting with in space (a property of quarks) and quantum computing which is now a reality. I would have loved to learn more about these topics.
Apart from what's missing, the whole series was very interesting and I hope there'll be a second series.

Engaging, well targeted with a good flow. Opens doors for some good geekery!
This is brilliant! It straddles perfectly the line between being engaging for people who are less geeky (in the best way) and informative or weaving for those that have the urge to keep googling the subject matter...
It's the right length, the presenter is sincere and his delivery well thought out. The production is good and so is the editing and writing. I'd recommend watching it with a second window / device open for a proper nourishing bit of geeking out...
