Product Description

Product Description

The Quad Lock Bike Kit is the lightest and strongest bike mount kit on the market. Never worry about where to put your phone when going on your trip ever again. Whether you are a recreational cyclist or competing in the Tour de France, Quad Lock allows you to secure your device to your bike, visible and within easy access. No other mounting system allows you to attach and remove your smartphone as quickly as you can with Quad Lock. No need to fumble around with plastic pouches or bulky docking cradles - with Quad Lock you just snap on your smartphone and go. Everything you need to securely mount your device to your bike or motorbike, pram, golf buggy or shopping trolley is included in the kit. With Quad Lock your phone is always where you can see it, and ready for action - just twist, lock and go! With your device securely mounted to your bike and with the convenience of having your phone visible while riding, you can safely screen calls and messages, navigate to your destination or track your speed and distance using your favourite apps. Also, unlike most bike mounts on the market the Quad Lock has a very small and discrete mount which is unobtrusive when not in use. The Quad Lock mount can be easily attached and removed using the supplied o-rings, or for a more permanent solution zip ties are also included. Recommended tube size is 25-40mm.

Style Name: iPhone 5/5S Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I'd been looking for a stem mount for my iphone for a while, having started using Strava regularly for recording my activities. I was also keen to try out the quad lock system, which looked like a good secure mounting mechanism. So when I had the chance to try it out through the Vine programme, I jumped at the chance.

Fitting the mount to your stem is pretty straightforward as it comes with rubber bands for the job. Like other reviewers here, I chose to cable-tie it on too for extra security. Obviously, this means it'll be more of a nuisance to move it to my other bike if I ever choose to do so, but I'd rather have the extra confidence in the mount, to be honest.

The mount in operation is really good and secure, and strava gives me pretty much all I need for my rides. The rain cover works well too - at least in the light showers I've encountered so far. I appear to be lucky in avoiding heavy downpours, so hopefully it'll be a long time before I have to prove it really works! The locking mechanism is really good too - secure, yet easy to use.

There are only two minor niggles. The first is that it's fixed in position, so I can't adjust the angle of the screen. Obviously, if I'm tucked over the bars, it's right under my nose, but when I'm sitting back and trundling up a hill, I have to consciously lean forward to see my screen. Second, and for the same reason, reflections can sometimes be annoying if you happen to catch the sun at the wrong time. Not sure how 'engineerable' it would be to allow a bit of adjustment, but it would just negate both of these little issues.

They're not enough, however, to knock a star off. If you want a safe, secure, reliable, and easy to use option for clipping you phone to your bars, this is it.

The installation of this is so simple, simply place lock onto handle bar and twist lock! Once in place, it stays put. A friend has actually lifted my bike by the lock (not advisable) to test it's strength and it did not detach or break. I have cycled on bumpy terrains and my phone has stayed in place and the mount has not slipped. I feel confident using it with my expensive iPhone 6.

The case is appox 14cm long, 7cm wide and just under 1cm in depth, meaning the size of your phone is increased when held.

I am pleased the design flaw of the Quad Lock iPhone 5 case has been rectified for the iPhone 6 model. My iPhone 5 became scratched due to the rear mount lock having holes, meaning dirt etc could sit between the case and you phone. This case is enclosed so your phone is better protected as it also has microfibre lining. The case has access holes for the audio socket, charging port and speakers at the bottom, camera and flash at the back and silent 'switch' to the side. The volume and lock buttons have a silicone button on the case and work perfectly when pressed.

Having used it daily for over a month I would highly recommend. I hope this review was helpful

Really loved this, the mount stays put even though it's just rubber bands holding it onto the handlebars. Biggest let down was the case broke where it fits onto the mount so now it does not fit securely, I bought in March 2015 and it broke August Axz2015. When you spend £60 on the whole kit you expect it to last some years!

I purchased my first road bike 5 weeks ago, and have since developed a mild addiction to cycling. To-date, I have have only done a few bike rides, in no small part as I have a few running events coming up and an concentrating on these. However, one thing I have noticed on my bike rides is the requirement to navigate, particularly if I am to ride into unseen and far places! I contemplated buying the Garmin Edge 1000, however, already have a Garmin 920XT and fenix 3, both of which can record bike rides as well as my running.
Okay, so using my Garmin watches covered the bike rides. But this still meant that I needed a device to view maps on my new adventures. I came across the Quad lock system, which allows your iPhone to be securely mounted to the stem of your bike. I was little sceptical (and somewhat nervous) about mounting my phone to my bike in this way, but the numerous positive online reviews gave me some confidence.
Attaching the Quad lock to my bike was very simple. It feels snug and secure, and once attached, there is absolutely no bounce in my phone. I have been on a few rides now up to 25km, and there have been no incidents where my phone has felt like it may fall off. Attaching and removing the quad lock is also quick with a push-down and turn mechanism. Also included is a poncho, so your iPhone can be covered in wet conditions (although I am not a fan of riding in the rain, the poncho can come in handy when the weather changes without warning!).

In the future I may well invest in a dedicated bike GPS unit such as the Garmin Edge 1000, but until I feel the need for such a powerful training gadget, the Quad lock and my iPhone, along with my Garmin watch, will be more than enough to satisfy my bike tracking activities.

I've used this product for a couple of months now on my road bike. It works extremely well, and has caused me no problems. It allows me to quickly attach and detach my iPhone 5S from the bike and attached to the handlebar stem I have perfect vision of the phone which I use as a cycling satnav unit among other things.

The rear cover for the phone is so good that I have ditched my normal cover and use this black one permanently. Where the rear cover is shaped to lock onto the handlebar mount there are a series of cutouts in the plastic. I was worried that in torrential rain, water would be able to enter the cover and damage the phone. I therefore lined the inside of the cover with packing/masking tape and this has kept all water out. There is also a cutaway in the plastic to allow the camera lens to look through. This is tight against the iPhone body and has show no sign of letting water through. However it's a good idea to wipe the lens cover before using the camera in case any dust is sticking to it.

The transparent front cover only needs to be used if there are signs of rain. Once you use it all the sockets are also covered around the sides of the phone. This means you cannot use the headphones (which are useless due to wind noise anyway) and you cannot (theoretically) charge the phone from an external battery. I have read that some people have cut their covers to allow access to these sockets. I would highly recommend you don't do this as water could get in and ruin a very expensive piece of kit. The dispaly can be operated through the front cover but you have to tap harder.

I find that using the iPhone as a satnav with the screen permanently on will drain the battery in around 3 hours.
