Qin Xie is a food, drink and travel journalist reporting frequently on chefs, restaurants, wines, and destinations. She has written widely for publications including CNN, Yahoo, Financial Times and The Times. Her reportage has covered everything from Georgian Qvevri wines and Belgian Elixirs to cacao from the Dominican Republic and Basmati rice from India.
Whilst working as a journalist, she also received classical culinary training at Leiths School of Food and Wine and subsequently completed kitchen and pastry stages at Michelin-starred restaurants including The Fat Duck, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, The Square and Lima. She has also taken the WSET Advanced Certificate in wine and spirits and specialises in sweet wines.
Born in the UNESCO City of Gastronomy, Chengdu, she has a deep rooted understanding and appreciation of Chinese food and is in constant pursuit of authenticity.
